In reply to Cooter :

The wife said it was too cloudy to see it where she was, I didn’t feel like getting out of bed so I sent her that.

I watched it. Had a perfectly clear night here. Sat out on the dock drinking a beer looking up at the sky through binoculars at midnight. My dog thought I'd lost my mind.

Tough to get a decent shot - the wind was high enough to move the tripod around, even with weight hanging on it. This is about the best of the lot.

Why are both my calendars wrong?  Both say last night was the new moon, but you can't have a lunar eclipse any time other than the full moon...

Happened to see this post last night at midnight...otherwise would have forgot to check the sky.  Very, very cool sight.

Here's a bigger sample of my photos from the eclipse:

Shared Flickr - Eclipse

Here's what I used, a Sony A6000 with an adapted $25 eBay telephoto lens 500mm with a 2x teleconverter.

(pic from months ago learning to use it.)

First I tried a delayed shutter, but it was better to just trigger it with a remote app on my phone. I also tried some shots with a handheld Olympus OM-D EM-1 with a 75-150mm, but they were a mess in the dim light.
