Keep your stick on the ice, Captain. I'm pulling for you.
For a bunch of reasons, I almost had to stop reading that halfway through. Boy am I glad I kept going. If anybody deserves herniated discs at this point, it has to be you! Good luck with the pillows.
Jimminy crickets! So glad to hear it's just an excruciating back injury.
Seriously though, congrats on dodging the proverbial bullet.
Wow, all things considered, that is some great news! But back stuff ain't nothing to berk with either.
My uncle-in-law (is that a thing?) is going through some serious back issues. Some of the vertebrate in his neck were messed up, so he had surgery to correct them. I'm not 100% sure what they did, but it involved some screws and stuff like that. I guess they have to do even more surgery, and when it's up that high on the spine, it can get really dicey.
The good news is that modern medicine is completely insane, and in a good way! It's like science fiction stuff now. I think they can 3D print spine stuff now.
Good luck on getting yourself all fixed up!
First round in the pool paying attention to the neck (in attention to the shoulder and abdomen) was today, results were definitely positive. I think that I'll be able to avoid any neck scars :)
Cap'
If you wind up needing the surgery, it's serious, but not the end of the world. I had my second discectomy done in January of 2015 and was back in a race car in May. C4,5&6 are now one piece, but my neck still works fine and all the related problems, which were like yours are corrected. Keep a positive attitude, there's a bunch of us pulling for you!
SWMBO had L3 &L4 fused in January. She's already walking 3-times farther than she could a year ago. Still has some movement restrictions that physical therapy is addressing but exceeding expectations. If you end up needing, as said, not the end of the world. Find a good surgeon.
Man you are having a tough go! We all are hoping you beat the snot out of all of this stuff and get healthy again.

And smile like an idiot at the "good news." Now, time to find some Full Tilt.
