Hmm... I might have to go set up my train set tomorrow. I have some big LGB's. Definitely a hobby I'm glad I didn't stick with, those things can get expensive.

I was just gonna say- Ooooh Lionel- and someone beat me to it. I have a pile of that stuff in a closet as part of an inheritance.... I don't know that I'll ever use it, but it has immense sentimental value.

No, the best part about winter is that one day it'll be over. I've already had all the winter I can stand - it got down to the lower 40's one night.

The trains you can pull out and play with any time. What we used to like to do was get everybody's straight sections and line them up on the sidewalk and see how fast we could make them go and how far they'd skid when they ran off the edge. Great summertime fun.

OOOH, F7 unit! Nice.

Have you ever tried to wire a reversing loop on a 2 railer? For toys, 3 rail IS better.

Yeah...functionally, third rail rocks.

I played with a lionel from about the age of 5 on up.

off topic: My daughters (7 and 10) and I played slot cars all weekend.

the best part of winter is putting these on your car, and playing on the nearest lake with 12 inches of ice!!

But since we're talking the best of both worlds (winter, AND trains)..

Plus elevent billion.

I do not like cold, I would not like it in a house. I would not, could not like it with a mouse. I do not like it her nor there, I do not like it any where (unless its back in the Sahara desert)

Wally,

Nice New York Central pieces. I have a bunch of NYC memorabilia - my dad put in 30 years with them.

If you like trains, reading, and history, then check this book out about one of the worst avalanche incidents in history:

Where in WI are ya? I kinda wanna do some ice racing this year... makes perfect sense to take the good car out on its winter meats for ONE day.

Best part of winter is that it's completely and totally acceptable, hell, expected even, to drift everywhere.
