So the hot rod model is only available in 3 colors? Why can't you get the red or blue on the TRD?
On paper, this compares very favorably to the SHO. And if it came out in 1989, we'd be going crazy over it. But it honestly isn't anything special. I've never driven a SHO, but I anticipate that it is far more fun than this, because this is probably a rather dull, muted, Camry like driving experience. It makes for an excellent car for the average buyer. And it looks cool. But it doesn't feel fun.
(Never driven one, though I have driven multiple Camrys/Camry derivatives)
When I read the title of this thread, I figured somebody was having trouble with the air conditioning in their beige appliance.
A discussion about an attractive Camry does not compute.
My wife recently traded the V6 Accord on a 2021 Camry XSE with that fancy roof and 235/40R19 tires. Of course with the V6--the wife refuses to drive a 4-cylinder car. Mileage isn't nearly as good as the Accord, which had the DOD thing, but it's not bad. I've only driven it once or twice. Three hundred horsepower? In a Camry? I haven't romped on it yet. I might be afraid....
These are interesting times.
I think before we can really judge it, it's important to know if it's any more than a set of H&R's and Koni Sports away from being a decently sporty ride.
I'm not sure what I hate more, four door cars or Toyotas.
But I can still appreciate a good looking car, and this is a good looking one. I saw a white one today that looked just like that first one posted and it looked even better in person
Redshift will make coilovers for the Camry and whiteline makes a big honking rear swaybar for it. In the XV20 chassis I can confirm that the setup doesn't do anything for steering feel, but if you aggressively pitch it in and trailbrake it will fight past the understeer into a holy crap, this is a neutral slide. I haven't gotten the setup onto dirt but I suspect it will be possible to prompt rotation.

You should save a little of that hate for SUV's. There's never been much if any penalty for four doors vs. two in a sedan, but a big increase in usefulness. Most people are probably closer to buying something with three rows than they are with two seats.

Oh, I would not even consider it. It's a Toyota. Beige isn't a soul, it's a lack of anything resembling one
One of the forum members has a brilliant sig that's that says something about the personality of vehicles, and how the Japanese manage to engineer that out. If anybody knows who that is, direct me there. I want to use it the next time somebody asks why I sold my Japanese MX bike and replaced it with an Italian one.
