The Flounder Thread

Alright folks, it is time for the mother of all flounders.

The preliminaries have been going on for years here but the time for competition is now. It is now time to see who is the master of the flounder!

Rules:

• This is a distance competition. The further you can get from the quoted topic the better. Don't let current events be a limit, think historical too!

• You may reply and flounder a previous post, or you may post a new topic you wish to see floundered.

• You must tie the flounder post back to the quoted post in some way, regardless of logic or sanity. Let your inner Art Bell flow.

• No simple "black/white" replies. There must be some sort of reasoning behind the flounder.

• This is for fun, so don't be a Bob Costas and take anything said here seriously.

So without further adieu here is our first topic:

"The website isoHunt will shut down as part of a settlement in a massive piracy suit filed by Hollywood studios, agreeing to pay $110 million for claims that the site induced the pirating of movies and TV shows. If studios would make content available the way consumers want to consume it, then maybe piracy wouldn't be such a big problem."

Damn liberals trying to make media free for people and taking money out of the pockets of good hard working people.

But the media has always been at the hands of the rich! Think about it, who were the only people who could afford books back before the printing press was invented? That's right, only the upper class could have a hand copied book, much less a collection. And of course only they knew how to read. Once the printing press came along the poor people could suddenly afford to have books. Making media cheap (or free even) breaks the barrier between the rich and the poor.

I've read it was written by the Romans to get the populace in check.

I've read some other articles that state no historian/philosopher/poet/etc make mention of him during the time period in which he was supposedly alive.
