I have a pretty darn good resume and 34 years in the industry. I can get the interviews but haven't been able to close the deal. In retrospect, nobody wants to hire an old, fat and crusty boiler man/ pipefitter. Can't fix old but I can fix crusty and overweight.
Lost 42 pounds so far, booya. Working on crusty.
Boiler guys are hard to find - something is out there for ya buddy.
Re upholstered the A pillar trim in the x type today. Plan went perfectly and the end result is it looked factory new. Took all of ten minutes. Including removal and reinstallation. Love it when a plan works perfectly.
Took the family to celebrate July 4th at the National Mall in DC yesterday. Everyone happy, the weather held off, and kids behaved and had a good time.
Win, Win, Win.

I went there once, it was disappointing. What kind of mall doesn't have an Orange Julius.
Helped out dad, ate bratwurst, found out deck will be cheaper and easier to repair than I expected, got all my pressure washing done, and finally got caught up on the walking dead.
Its been a damn good day.

I've been fighting miserable DSL performance at my house. Despite being in the city, and about a straight line mile from the CO, my DSL performance has been about half of what was promised, or less. I'd have to call over and over again, and the best they would do is send someone out to my house to tell me in person that they couldn't make it any faster. Meanwhile, I could barely stream anything. I had times where I couldn't watch YouTube at the 240 resolution. Hulu was mostly passable, but Vimeo was nearly unusable.
The cable company would tell me that they don't service my address. Again, I'm in the city, near the city center, and my neighbors to each side had service. I'd tried several times over the years, and that's all I got. About two months ago, I filed a complaint against the cable company at the FCC site. This was the first time someone from the cable company pointed out the details of my case. They will spend $3000 to hook up a house. My house was estimated to cost $3400. If I would only pay the $400, they'd build out.
$400 and a month later, I'm installed.
Old and busted:
New hotness:
Oh, and the new stuff if $15 a month cheaper.
Got home from work and SWMBO was happy to see me , took the Miata out for some gourmet burgers (it's burger week here in Lexington) and beat a 350Z who was feeling froggy from a stop light (I heard his tires chirp going to 2nd), Baskin Robbins for dessert and now a free redbox. Such a good time!!
Spent all of 30 seconds waiting at the MTO to get the UVIP. Booked my final exam in less than 10 minutes. Had a fellow Oldsmobile enthusiast look at my car, and he was interested in it. So far, this week has been a good week.
Went to a local cruise in this past weekend. Took both of the Corvettes to the show - family friend has a C5 vert, and a C7 Z51. I drove the 5 (auto, still a blast)...it was my first time behind the wheel at freeway speeds. The grin was torque induced:
While we were there, SWMBO started asking us about what a turnkey, well sorted Nova SS might run, and started asking a few owners at the cruise in what they would hypothetically consider a fair offer.
Later that night after we got home, she asked me if a Nova or Chevelle would be on my list of desireables. I told her I admit they're nice cars, and wouldnt kick either out of bed, but I've always wanted a '70.5 split bumper Camaro Z28. After a brief image search and watching a few YouTube clips, she said she could live with one of those in the fleet, and began googling for price ranges. Even said she would prefer a manual over a slushbox...
I may have some interesting posts in the upcoming months...

Fresh fruit off a tree. Today mango and banana. Wow
Back home from Puerto Rico to be welcomed by plants full of blackberries and raspberries. Yea....
Made some blackberry preserves- man that tastes good. Not enough raspberries to work with this year. Next year.
Not much better than eating fresh fruit directly off the plant.
I just got in from trip to the doctor. Another cystoscope shows no bladder cancer. Still mellowing out from the anesthesia.
This was my giggle for the day: http://video.foxnews.com/v/4356029246001/blue-angels-buzz-beach-jets-send-umbrellas-tents-flying/?intcmp=watchnow#sp=show-clips
The title for the MX6 came in, after 2 years I officially own it.
Made spring rolls for dinner last night, they really hit the spot.
Topless beauties tend to put me in a good mood - especially if I had something to do with them getting that way.
I helped do this to the boss's T-bird.
Just got this Packard 12 running amazing!
A miserable driving car, but what a gem of a motor. Talk about torque!
Been a while since I posted in this thread. I just finished up a job interview for an assistant position with a very established insurance rep who needs someone with a strong customer service background and organizational skills. I like him and I got the feeling he likes me and thinks I would be a good fit. I have a really good feeling about this one!

Within the past month I've had both A/C units die, one of which is requiring full replacement, the pool pump died, all four kids and the wife are sick, the garbage disposal started leaking, causing mold and rot, Tunawife's engagement ring broke, and we're totally out of money for her birthday. I've been sleeping on the floor downstairs in the living room since the kids are all on the same air mattress. The GFCIs tripped causing lost meat.
And I'm still blessed tons more than I deserve.

My new website now drives more traffic after six months than my old one did after five years.
And as a bonus I've helped put a few of my friends to work:
I don't have any particular reason to be in a good mood, but I am. I left for work before the sun came up, will likely get back around dark and I'm on to work twelves the next few days.
I'm tired, sore, and yet I'm gonna dance like this turtle :

And homeowners insurance is covering a bunch of stuff. Yay!
I just enrolled in community college, again, 22 years and a bachelors degree later.
