We're supposed to be in the 70's tomorrow which is ridiculous. Wish I still had the 'vert, but it makes for nice bicycle commuting weather and should make for a rather enjoyable day playing in the salvage yard tomorrow (assuming it's not raining- not that rain would stop me...)

There is a possibility of 50 today. Typical for this time of year is ~30° and 2' of snow.

Its 70f today there is no rain in the sky and I had to go to Ventura. Went by train this time.

Big seat, no traffic and they gave me a beer and mini oreo's when I got on board in First Class. This is amazing. The 3 hour drive back might suck if traffic picks up but I can deal with it by putting the top down.

Have a VERY rare 3-day weekend, and it's been mid-60's so far. The last two years at this time, we were buried under a couple feet of snow, with -20 wind-chills.

Being able to go to my shop in a t-shirt in December to play with my cars is too damn cool!!!

I bought a new DD yesterday. After driving cheap GM sedans for the past 8ish years (bonneville, Malibu, etc), and with a new job involving a commute, it was time for something nice.

We took a family members pathfinder to Nationals as a support vehicle and it made me realize how handy a small SUV is, so I've been on the hunt for an SUV ever since. My basic requirements were AWD, decent mpg (mid 20's), and heated seats. That opened up the market to basically CR-Vs, RAV-4's, and Highlanders......... But then I found a diamond in the rough. Enter this:

Acura RDX. 2.3L turbo K-series, SUPER HANDLING ALL WHEEL DRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE, and the tech package. One owner car with 83k on it, and every single service done at this particular Honda dealer (the car fax was a mile long with all the oil changes, tire rotations, etc on it). I went and drove it yesterday and it was stellar. After some negotiations I walked out of there with them adding a brand new set of tires plus an alignment for $500 less than their asking price. I go back and pick it up Tuesday. It's pretty exciting to have a nice car now for a DD!

Four years ago, I started getting my E36 M3 in a sock to fuel inject the duster. As of today, the fuel system is done, the manifold is done, and I have almost all my parts to finally get going on it. Four years. Feels great.

Mrs. Zero and I were working out the details for our 2016 budget. Since she's going back to school, we had to tighten the reins a bit. Before we started, she said, "Don't forget to make room in the budget to get a welder + safety stuff. You need a welder."

If my wife had said that, I would have had a heart attack and she would be planning a trip to Europe.

We finalized the sale of family property. First time ever that I've seen 6-figures in my bank account (the first of those is a "1", but still). I'm not going crazy, but I'm able to spend a bit on things.

Replaced the Astro with an '06 Town and Country.

Gonna put together a gaming PC and probably some custom roller skates for hitting the ramps.

I hit my production goal for my boss. I actually passed it. I posted a 139% which put me at 108% over the last 4 bi-weeks.

The translation of this is I will no longer be a probationary employee and will be retained full time, I get to keep my job!!!!

How is it? I was curious how Hondas first production turbo car engine would be? CRV with turbo and performance AWD sounds nice :)

On a related note isn't the CR-V a spacious thing for the packaging job they did?

Don't you work for the govt? Be careful, your coworkers will hate your guts if you overachieve.

The lady that was training me at the Savannah River Site once scolded for wanting a mis-addressed paycheck to be sent to me through interoffice mail instead of berkeleying off an hour going to pick it up. She actually put it in those words.

Nah. I can't fit a motorcycle in the back of a wagon, and I still have the S2000.
