Thought I might try to take care of a couple of to-dos on the weekend, but my girlfriend suggested we make a big push to finish the garage instead. And we did! (Okay, still needs window trim, but c'mon...) Woohoo! Ranchero time!

We bought a 'forever' couch in May. The store said it'll be delivered at the latest at the end of August. Then we get a call for the end of July, and with our current basement remodel that seemed like a good time, what with all the shuffling of furniture, but now the couch will be here today!
Did my first clutch job and slave cylinder replacement this weekend on my sister's Scion tC. It runs, shifts and drives well where previously wouldn't go into gear unless the car was off. Original clutch had 152740 on it, which isn't too bad I suppose, especially given how she she drives. No engine lights or left over bolts or screws either :P
Of course I didn't want to do it, it took a long time, I got banged up, but I'm damn proud of myself for removing an integral part of the drivetrain and buttoning it back up correctly.
Got my exhaust all nice and setup after a broken exhaust hanger led to a disonnected exhaust mid autox's run... Just got my new brake proportioning valve so will have her on the road in the next days.
RMV website said the wait time was 0 for registrations, and actually wasn't lying! And, they didn't bat an eye at my 6 month old docs and the yellow Miata is FINALLY LEGAL AND DRIVEABLE.
My wife is pleased that the number of inop cars in the driveway is down to 2.
Came home from dinner to find a box on the patio. From Soloperformance.com
My helmet is FINALLY here, wasn't even supposed to ship until next week, like all the "next weeks" since May 15th, it's original delivery date.
Finally, real numbers, my own helmet, I almost feel like a real driver now.
The weather has been wonderful, I'm currently undefeated in my weekly go kart league, I get to choose between two different 1000cc superbikes to ride to work, I have a fire truck for a tow rig, the dogs and the cat are healthy and happy, I have not one but two rally cars, I am engaged to my codriver, and to top it all off now there are Pokémon in the woods behind my house. Life is pretty good right now
Drove the FX16 to work today. Turned 290,000 miles. It will probable take another 4-5 years to break 300,000.
I've scored a part-time security gig that'll keep me nice and active. A typical shift has you walking anywhere from 10-15 miles.
I know it's kind of a weird thing to be happy about, but I've been suffering a severe case of office-ass in my dispatching job.
I'm doing part time work for a new brewery. I've done 2 days there so far. Already I'm getting called up on my days off to troubleshoot and offer advice on situations they're dealing with. Feels good to be appreciated.

It put me in a damn good mood to see Beer Baron posting in this thread.
Picked my kid up a 2006 Hyundai Accent 3 door on Monday for $200. Owner stated that it turned over but wouldn't start and that the alternator was seized. Fresh battery and it started on the first crank. Alternator isn't seized. This thing has next to no rust, an almost new set of tires and is in really good shape overall. Score!
I've been hobbled with a kidney stone since the wee hours of last Tuesday morning. As of 9:51 PM CST it and a few of its smaller conspirators are finally out of me!!!
Home safe and sound from vacation. No fights between 4 children or both adults in 2,000 miles of driving and 10 days together. Lots of fun was had and general happiness.
It has been almost constant rolling thunder in the background for an hour or so.
It. Sounds. Awesome.
This more than makes up for the E36 M3ty day at work, where somehow, on a job where labor time is 16 hours, just because I performed a Herculean grip-n-rip to disassemble in two hours, I was expect to reassemble the mess in three? And there was much disappointment when it turned out I could not work miracles.
And just now the rains have started. We need them. Thunder is still rolling. Feel like listening to some Doors.
I just had the most productive skate session in a good long time. Between the roller skates and skateboard, I got at least a half a dozen new moves/tricks down.
Video footage of some highlights from the session. With the exception of the easier jump on the ramp and the easier jump on flat, these are all new tricks for me. And this wasn't even everything!
I dropped in on a skateboard for the first time!
Got strapped into a stock car for the first time in far too long. Haven't lost a thing and it still feels soo damn right. 500 hp and 1/2 mile track makes for good times.
I just put a lift kit on a Subaru and all of the bolts moved easily!
Difficulty: Car had under 700mi on it.
Also the seats in a new WRX are FANTASTIC.
6 out of 8 plugs came out of a 3-valve Ford intact! This is a new record for me.
The previous record is "one".
Called out of work because a tree fell on the house. Got up at dawn, was done by lunch. Now damage to the house, fence was an easy fix. Then got the wiring harness for the duster finally done. Cleaned up the shop, put the elky back together, and am now at dance rehearsal with my daughter.
Been a damn good, but hot and tiring day.
Has it really been over a month since someone was in a good mood? I'm looking at a big $ for Subarust brakes, but I got an email from a customer in Taiwan that is doing ok after the typhoon. Puts things in perspective.

These are solid basic transportation mobiles. Back in 2010, I almost bought a black on black Accent three door hatch with no a/c and no power options for $10k out the door
