I posted it in the $2017 classifieds as a free 302, bring a trailer (and carb)
And everyone was wise enough to not be tempted.

+1. I'm still looking for a Phantom carcus to "fill out" the ejection seat I bought a few years back, knowing full well once SWMBO saw me drag it home, I'd be a dead man.

Only on grm do I not not need to ask the question, why did you buy an ejection seat?
It's not a free boat with an engine, it's a hauling (no trailer included) and disposing of a 24' fiberglass hull to get a 302 mystery engine and maybe some gauges.
You can cut up a fiberglass boat with a sawzall and put it out with the trash pice by piece. Takes a while, but you can do it.
In reply to mazdeuce:
I recommend wearing a respirator if you opt for that route. Pieces of fiberglass could be cut and shaped for various uses as well.

There's still chunks of RV by the garage from the last time this happened to rescue a 440.
EDIT: I got a better idea, put the boat in a tree. It's a treehouseboat now.
In reply to Chadeux:
My house came with two boats. One got cut up and thrown away, the other one was turned into a sand box for the kids. If it had been this big I would have turned it into a playhouse instead.

More like "Where did you find an ejection seat?" Because I'm 4 leg posts away from the most badass client seating in the office at that point.
I legitimately want the treehouseboat to be a thing now. Between this and my fondness of large ugly vehicles, I'm probably going to eventually be the worst homeowner.

Wasn't it inconveniently attached to an A-7 cockpit?

Its a thing. And a pretty cool thing at that.

There used to be one in a tent a guy was selling antiques from in lower Manhattan.

I bought mine from Ebay several years ago. Initially, I was just buying the "bucket" part of the seat to make a cool office chair. When the bucket arrived, (the look on the UPS guy's face was priceless) I found out it came out of an F-4C that got the first MiG kill for the USAF in Vietnam. Since it had some "history" to it, I ended up sourcing most of the rest of the parts to complete it. I've had it together once to see what I have and what I'm missing. Then I took it back apart to refurbish some of the parts that had been "de-mil'd" (i.e. crushed, cut, etc. to make them inoperable). I've since made a stand for it that looks like a maintenance stand, but will allow it to be used as a novelty chair. The good news is I just need the 3 or 4 days it takes to re-assemble the seat and I'm good to go. The bad news is I haven't found that much free time in the last several years.
BTW - the government isn't releasing these from scrapped aircraft anymore, so if you see one, buy it. Last I checked, mine is worth 2-3x what I paid for it.
I can see worse than buying that boat for the 440. I do know of a guy who scrapped a Chris Craft Constellation for it's engines.
