I will be sure to update everyone as I go.
I was doing some picking up and came across this from Mr ASA's New Years Box:
Whoever gets me next year, if you find a Jean Grey action figure it would be appreciated

Nothing to add but YOU CAN DO THIS!!!! If you need anything I am actually not that far away. Couple hours I think.

Thank you, I have a few people nearby and my mother is staying a couple days. I'm hoping to not have much trouble.
My friend had a similar procedure. Same thing, just hit a wall losing weight. It was wild watching him basically disappear over the months, but he's absolutely glad he got the procedure. Good on you man.
Good luck Wally! I know two people that have had that, both were massively successful in losing weight. And don't let these guys talk you into a Corvette tattoo, clearly you need one with a Corvette with a skull and cross bones added.
I have a cousin who had this procedure done. It has been a huge improvement to her quality of life for more than 20 years. Sending good vibes, guy.
Good luck Wally! As a big guy who's getting older, I know how hard it can be on the joints. I have a few relatives that have had the surgery and it has worked wonders for them, as long as they stick to the dietary needs afterwards. It's a big step, and I hope it works out for you!
And all you guys talking about Corvette tattoos are doing it wrong. He needs to tattoo the Corvette! A tasteless under-hood mural on that thing better be Step #5 on your list.

A little Vanispheres to make you smile when just the two of you are together..
Wally - Good for you for taking this step. I hope all goes well and from what I think I know about you, you'll be able to do what's needed post op to make this worthwhile.
Also, I'm a bit jealous of the Vette. I hope you have many fun adventures in it and that any un-fun adventures provide you with great stories.
I'm somewhat of an expert on this subject having watched every episode of my 600lb life.
All seriousness good luck on this journey. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Surgery sucks no matter what.

So you slept in a Holiday In Last night?
In reply to Tony Sestito :
I didn't realize these murals were a thing. Having been concieved in a van behind a roller derby I feel I need to look into this.

Thank you, of the State of NY let's me register it there will be some stories.
In reply to Scotty Con Queso :
I have been on the fence about whether to get the surgery or push onward and gain another couple hundred, no one on that show is alone. (I'm probably kidding)

Uh, that’s a lot to unpack there...

I'm with you on that. I know it sounds insensitive to say I've struggled with my weight when I'm at 190. But I'm trying to get back to 170 after being overweight and above 200 since I was in my teens. As I get older it's gotten harder and harder to lose. I've considered giving up and gaining a bunch of weight. It would be a lot more fun.
Also - Dr. Nowzaradan is my spirit animal.
Of course there's a paperwork issue. Add this to the ever growing list of simple E36 M3 that can't go right. Ugh!
Nothing to add to the mid life crisis thing... been living in that mode for well over 40 years now. Started young, and blew well past my middle years!
Do have a cool penguin story, though. SHMBO and I got the chance to stop in Bass Pro in MO. They have a live penguin exhibit, where you can watch them play. The coolest thing about the exhibit, is watching the interaction of the kids, and the penguins. They are so tuned in to each other, its as if the kids are communicating directly with them. Must be something us adults forgot how to do! Fascinating, and almost spooky. Very cool stuff.
Good luck with your surgery. I hope it goes smoothly and that you see good results.
As for the midlife crisis, wasn't there some discussion about a yoga instructor?
In reply to TVR Scott :
Thank you, there's been a problem with some insurance paperwork so I'm still waiting.
There was a yoga instructor around very briefly before they smartened up.

Arrg! Paperwork should only exist to facilitate a process. When it hinders the process there's an issue.
And, watch that negative "before they smartend up" language. You're talking about someone I've grown to respect and admire there!
You'll need to log in to post.
