Wolf Blitzer and Anderson Cooper told me I should watch out for guys like this, and take them seriously. He's probably some berkeleying teabagger. We should all report this berkeleyer to the FBI:

"Congress went beyond merely enacting an income tax law and repealed Article IV of the Bill of Rights, by empowering the tax collector to do the very things from which that article says we were to be secure. It opened up our homes, our papers and our effects to the prying eyes of government agents and set the stage for searches of our books and vaults and for inquiries into our private affairs whenever the tax men might decide, even though there might not be any justification beyond mere cynical suspicion." "The income tax is bad because it has robbed you and me of the guarantee of privacy and the respect for our property that were given to us in Article IV of the Bill of Rights. This invasion is absolute and complete as far as the amount of tax that can be assessed is concerned. Please remember that under the Sixteenth Amendment, Congress can take 100% of our income anytime it wants to. As a matter of fact, right now it is imposing a tax as high as 91%. This is downright confiscation and cannot be defended on any other grounds." "The income tax is bad because it was conceived in class hatred, is an instrument of vengeance and plays right into the hands of the communists. It employs the vicious communist principle of taking from each according to his accumulation of the fruits of his labor and giving to others according to their needs, regardless of whether those needs are the result of indolence or lack of pride, self-respect, personal dignity or other attributes of men." "The income tax is fulfilling the Marxist prophecy that the surest way to destroy a capitalist society is by steeply graduated taxes on income and heavy levies upon the estates of people when they die." "As matters now stand, if our children make the most of their capabilities and training, they will have to give most of it to the tax collector and so become slaves of the government. People cannot pull themselves up by the bootstraps anymore because the tax collector gets the boots and the straps as well." "The income tax is bad because it is oppressive to all and discriminates particularly against those people who prove themselves most adept at keeping the wheels of business turning and creating maximum employment and a high standard of living for their fellow men." "I believe that a better way to raise revenue not only can be found but must be found because I am convinced that the present system is leading us right back to the very tyranny from which those, who established this land of freedom, risked their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to forever free themselves..."

That craigslist ad has to be a scam. They want you to contact them directly with a gmail account, and the whole thing is one big picture instead of text - I'll bet they've posted the same ad all over the country.

No but that's what it seems like when they call in a bomb threat over some LED signs and accuse a British UFO-nut who knows how to look up default passwords of causing billions of dollars in damage.

But CNN is doing a CYBERATTACK SPECIAL sometime soon so that should keep hackers at #3 for a while longer.

Yep, I've experienced the same thing a few times. Googlebots like the GRM.

People use the word "tyranny" way too freely today.

Have a car? Yes. Have a house? Yes. Have a loving family life? Yes. Have access to great free libraries and parks? Yes. Paved roads? Yes. Fire department? Yes. Police? Yes. Public Universities with low tuition?(compared to private) Yes.

hmmmm... Where is the tyranny? I do not see it.

btw.. I don't mean to defen our current tax system. Its messed up and if you have enough wherewithal, you can get away without paying your fair share. Now... all I need to do is get that wherewithal

I agree with your tyranny rant, and even that the tax code is more than a little screwed up, but I think you're a little off base on the "get[ting] away without paying your fair share." One's tax liability is determined solely by the law, thus anything that complies with the law is by definition "fair," because the same rules apply to everyone. A particular provision that some qualify for but not others may be "inequitable," but by definition it cannot be unfair.

By the way, you may be heading in the wrong direction. The more wherewithal I get, the more I seem to pay.

The car I paid for. Could be nicer if it wasn't for the tax man. The house I paid for and if it wasn't for the tax man it could be bigger The family wasn't supplied by the government thank God. Looking at all the other stuff they supply I can just imagine what the government supplied family would be like. Libraries and Parks I don't use. Paved roads? Yes I use them and don't mind paying for them. That is reasonable. Fire Dept.? Just since I moved into the city limits. Before that I paid for it as an annual fee. No sticker on the house they let it burn and made sure it didn't spread. Police? For what that's worth. It's a reasonable expense. Keeps me from having to shoot people. Public universities? If it wasn't for the tax man I could afford to pay for the private ones. As it is thank God for scholarships, most of which are privately funded.

Of all those things, none of them should be supplied by the federal government. Those are all state level. I want most of my federal taxes back then I'll be happy to supply for my self.

Ok... Then I want half the Ravenel bridge back. Cause It was half paid for with Federal money....

Let's also remove all the roads and police funding south carolina gets from the Federal government... Hmmm...

Basically, you wouldn't have roads and Charleston wouldn't have an 911 system. Your public universities would have no research funding which drives innovation.

As I said, roads and police are reasonable expenses that I have no problem paying for. Though having the feds pay for SC police and roads is kind of stupid. If the feds weren't already screwing us SC could pay for their own police and roads. Kind of makes more sense to keep the money rather than give it to the feds so they can give it back. Not the mention all the strings that are attached when they do give it back. Them controlling the money gives them the power to dictate traffic laws, drug laws ect. Without the need for that funding we could just tell them to piss off and run our backwards state the way we wanted. I would much rather have my taxes go to the state. Universities used to be privately funded and the better schools still are. How about I keep my money so I can afford to send my daughter where I want her to go rather than some public U where I can afford to send her. The feds piss money away on crap that is of no use to me. Maybe I wouldn't mind as much as long as I could tell them what to spend it on. I would much rather keep a F16 in the air for a couple of hours rather than give the police dept money for radar guns so they can write more tickets or the IRS the ability to hire more people so they can screw over more people. You seem to have the idea that the government is the answer for every problem. I just don't agree. In most instances I see the government as part of the problem, not the solution. I guess what I am trying to say is I don't want their "help" and really wish they would stop taking my money so they can force it on me.

Here's my complaint about SC (and the same could be applied to many other states, I'm sure): here in Chucktown we got a nice new bridge half paid for with federal tax money. It has the name of a longtime politician stuck on it. Ravenel brought home the bacon to Chucktown and got his name stuck on a pretty bridge.Gee, who'da thunk that?

Travel about 50 miles inland to I-95. It's known as the 'Corridor of Shame'. Recently the local scandal rag sent a reporter to do a series on the schools in the area, on one occasion she was in a school outside of Lone Star where the temperature inside the building was 38 degrees and the ambient temp was 34. Nice, huh?

A little closer to the town of Lone Star: Jim Clyburn, the Dem senator from the area, has decreed there will be a bridge built going from Rimini to Lone Star. Lone Star and Rimini are about 3 miles up the river from the I-95 bridge. Gee, gotta go 3 miles downstream to cross the river? It's a friggin' crime. But it's OK to let the kids freeze in school. Of course, the bridge will be named for the guy who brought home the bacon, right?

I intensely dislike seeing my tax dollars pissed away so some self important clown can have his name on a bridge while kids are freezing in school.

What's sad is that even if Ig got all of us to agree that his government should provide all of that crap that he thinks they should, it would be crazy cheaper than it is now because of how ridiculously corrupt and overpaid pretty much everyone in the government is.
