I spent the day of the Rapture studying up on ZAV's at the Military Vehicle Technology Foundation (http://mvtf.org/). I had no idea there were so very many types of tanks! I'm going to have to save up more money for the ZAV fund. First order of business is to get myself a schwimmwagen!
Since the Rapture didn't happen, or it did and all the pious Ascendents so remote no one noticed it, I decided to go to a Burlesque show last night. Seemed appropriate.

Damn I forgot the rapture was going to be on Saturday. And I was so looking forward to it.
I was driving down to the Potomac River in Georgetown (DC) to go sculling. I figured if the rapture happened while I was on the way, surely some of the WASP-ey type who populate the upper-crusty rowing club would have ascended and I could claim their rack spaces in the boathouse, for which there's customarily an infinite waiting list.
Turned out there was no rapture ~and~ the river was way high, had tons of debris and the most insane current I've ever encountered. Took me over 1/2 an hour to get back up to Key Bridge from around the end of Roosevelt Island, and when I paused to take a drink I gave up 50' in a blink.
