The drill press is the 17 speed hf floor unit but the sander is a Craftsman with a 1.5 hp motor. It is old enough to make me believe that rating might be true.

In retrospect, I may have a tool problem.
The HP rating on the HF tools is certainly optimistic. Years ago, I found a Jet metal cutting vertical/horizontal bandsaw for my dad. We used it a ton, worked well. You could have the blade resting on the metal when you turn on the motor and it'd start cutting. More recently, I got the HF equivalent - this motor will stall if you don't let it spool up prior to cutting. I haven't used the big sander hard enough to stall it yet, but she sure does dim the lights when on.
Been shopping?
No, been shopping.
What's that?
A piston engine!
What do you want with that?
It was a bargain!
How do you cook it?
Read one thread on these, went on Craigslist the same night. Bought this the following weekend. Now I have to sell it since I have no use for it.

Woodward also has a small one, made in China, for around $300. It seems like they have one on display at every car show and swap meet that I go to, but they have none for sale on the spot, so I've never pulled the trigger.
When I used to go to shows they often sold the displays once the show was over.

In my town, we've got lots of rich kids who when college is over, throw out good stuff.
I just picked up a $350 brand new Samsung UHD USB-C Monitor for free. Still in the box. From a frickin curb.
Didn't need it, but sure as hell will use it.
I am so tempted.

These bikes are built by hand in Italy, and as close to a factory race bike as you can buy. They are absolutely incredible and as close to jewelry as a motorcycle can get.
I already have a 144 and really don't need another 125/motocross bike, but it's normally $10k plus freight and pdi and now listed as OBO. That's a little more than $5k US.

Holy cow; it turned out 2018 me was wrong. The clutch went out of my daily just after I got this home so I fixed it the way I wanted it to be and drove it 40,000 miles in 2018.
And it's still here
At the beginning of Covid I bought a 3800SC swapped Fiero GT for cheap because it was cheap. Now I'm many hours and much money into making it drivable. But I absolutely don't need the darned thing.
Probably all but like 4 or 5 of my cars could fall into that category. Also, clearance stuff from Home Depot. Last week I grabbed a 50lb box of 6" nails/spikes. I currently have no use for them, but $15 for 50lb box that was previously $95 was just too good to pass up.
Those damn $400 blown motor projects that can be turned around in a week.... And now it's approaching 10 yrs and about $5k, even with all the freebies...
