I am not one get sick and when I do it is usually something that I can beat down with tea chicken soup and an assortment of over the counter drugs.

However I am just getting over one that kicked my but. It went like this.

Thursday I was feeling like I had a little head cold (went to work)

Friday I had a serious head cold. The body was aching everywhere and I had one of the worst headache I have had in years. (Stade home and literally dosed the whole day away on the sofa kind of watching a wheeler dealer marathon). Dragged my but to bed at 7:00 pm and proceeded to have a crappy nights sleep interrupted by me waking up and feeling like I had been hit by a truck.

Saturday I had all of Fridays problems just twice as bad plus hot and cold sweats. Needless to say I could barely get out of bed or off the sofa. You now you are really sick when you prefer to be in bed with the curtains drawn, lights out instead of on the sofa watching TV. I felt like the truck that hit me on Friday had backed up and run me over again.

Fortunately there is no stomach or lower GI problems associated with this thing. BUT DAM was it a nasty one. Fortunately it appears to be a fast moving one and my blessed wife made home made chicken soup. This with Advil and drinking a lot of warm / hot water and this morning I feel 95 percent better.

This is not a flue (I don't think) but dam is it a nasty cold. I have not been this sick in at least 3 years.

And for those that may get it all I can say is Advil seems to be the best medicine. It gets rid of the akes and pains and the headache and keeps the fever in check. No it does not help with the head cold part of it but at that point it does not matter as all you do is sleep. And drink lots of water. As my doc said years ago if you are not having to go to the bathroom you are not drinking enough and dehydration can be a worse problem than the original cold.

Other than that just sit it out and be thankful that it ends almost as fast as it starts.

I'm on day 3 of mine. It's mostly headache and a dry cough, plus general exhaustion that makes every day feel like it's about 400 hours long.

And this after having a nasty flu about a month ago. I work in a school, so I'm surrounded by lots of people, some of whom are inevitably sick. The end of every fall semester almost always results in me coming down with some sort of bug, but this one is quite nasty.

I just got over something similar. It came DAMN close to man cold.

I dropped a few pounds in a week, mostly in snot I believe. Decent ab workout from the constant coughing.

The silver lining is I sounded like Tom Waits for a few days.

I've been fighting off what The Jed had for about the last two weeks now. E36 M3 sucks.

About half my hospitalized patients have some form or another of The Jed's sickness right now. Sorry guys! Get your flu shots, though the current thing around here isn't influenza.

I'm surfing GRM from the couch with a stockpile of bottled water, over the counter meds and cough drops. Chicken noodle soup and sprite are soon to follow.

I think I'm gonna fill my grease gun with all the snot coming out of my face.

My wife had something living in her lungs for 10 days, it wasn't pretty.

Double up the liquids and hope for the best.

add me to the list...

had a fever of 99.5 today, snot drips, aches, headache, and cold spells.

Even better, we had my mom, my fiance's mom, and her sister over to our APARTMENT for the weekend.

I'm hanging in, gatoraide, mucinex, ibprufen, and saline spray.

Hopefully I will be through it tomorrow.

I think my snot would make good gasket sealant....
