I am not one get sick and when I do it is usually something that I can beat down with tea chicken soup and an assortment of over the counter drugs.
However I am just getting over one that kicked my but. It went like this.
Thursday I was feeling like I had a little head cold (went to work)
Friday I had a serious head cold. The body was aching everywhere and I had one of the worst headache I have had in years. (Stade home and literally dosed the whole day away on the sofa kind of watching a wheeler dealer marathon). Dragged my but to bed at 7:00 pm and proceeded to have a crappy nights sleep interrupted by me waking up and feeling like I had been hit by a truck.
Saturday I had all of Fridays problems just twice as bad plus hot and cold sweats. Needless to say I could barely get out of bed or off the sofa. You now you are really sick when you prefer to be in bed with the curtains drawn, lights out instead of on the sofa watching TV. I felt like the truck that hit me on Friday had backed up and run me over again.
Fortunately there is no stomach or lower GI problems associated with this thing. BUT DAM was it a nasty one. Fortunately it appears to be a fast moving one and my blessed wife made home made chicken soup. This with Advil and drinking a lot of warm / hot water and this morning I feel 95 percent better.
This is not a flue (I don't think) but dam is it a nasty cold. I have not been this sick in at least 3 years.
And for those that may get it all I can say is Advil seems to be the best medicine. It gets rid of the akes and pains and the headache and keeps the fever in check. No it does not help with the head cold part of it but at that point it does not matter as all you do is sleep. And drink lots of water. As my doc said years ago if you are not having to go to the bathroom you are not drinking enough and dehydration can be a worse problem than the original cold.
Other than that just sit it out and be thankful that it ends almost as fast as it starts.
