I was frightened reading the words 10,000hp and 308mph. Then I saw the interior.
Moderately unsettling to have a jet engine competing with my deodorant for space. 
They don't call it Krispy Kritter for nuttin.
That car sits out in front of an auto body and parts store, and has since the 60's. It supposedly made 1 run where it took off and clipped a pole. It's been for sale off-and-on since 2009.

And obviously jet engines aren't measured in HP, the price is insane, etc. 
Mythbusters did a segment on the JATO legend, not plausible IIRC.
.... but I kept waiting for the car to disintegrate.
