I have Rondellus's original album. It's soothing.
Ask anyone who's been around me... I listen to weird E36 M3 a lot of times.
(search for FAROFF on YouTube)
Wow, no genre is safe with them! Sting, Rammstein, Metallica, pop stuff...that's amazing. The Comfortably Numb one is pretty incredible. I kinda like it.
But I thought this thread would be about grindcore. Look up See You Next Tuesday or the Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza to see what I mean.
Pretty cool. This appears to be their website. http://www.gregorian-music.com/
Comfortably Numb is well done. They did Kashmir by Led Zeppelin as well, it's pretty epic.
as a listener of odd music, I'll be ornery and say "meh".
There's a lot more to Gregorian chant than just lots of cathedral-like reverb. I actually really like plainsong, so if they'd paid a bit more attention to what places a song in this genre, I'd be more interested/impressed.
And as a die-hard Pink Floyd fan, I gotta say - I'm disappointed

Yeah. Gregorian chants are kinda partly defined by the fact they have no instruments used in them.

I take no responsibility for this. I assume winter is REALLY berkeleying boring in the UK.

o_O I didn't notice that one before.
This is also sometimes called "Swing House" or sometimes "Chicago House." (Though youtube doesn't give much for "chicago house")
Well, I certainly am familiar with Gregorian Chant, but I didn't realize there was a movement to cover pop songs "in the style of" Gregorian Chant. I am familiar with the Enigma stuff from several years ago and thought it was pretty cool.
Uh, just for the record, that stuff ain't really Gregorian Chant any more than Elvis is a blues singer. That stuff is really just men's choir renditions of pop songs.

You've clearly never heard of Merzbow. Here's some of his more accessible stuff. Of for the real hardcores, here.
Or you could even check out some of their more mainstream-oriented proteges, like lightning bolt.

Mmm... John Lennon would find the dichotomy amusing, to say the least.

That electroswing actually isn't bad.
Everyone my age seems to be into dubstep (especially Skrillex) but it's just a bit too noisy and obnoxious for my taste. This is about the noisiest I can enjoy:

This is GRM-relevant, I'm pretty sure this was inspired by a WW2 fighter engine (mixed with a springy doorstop):
