Radio just covered that story. Apparently he was in the baggage hold stealing from unlocked luggage and didnt make it back out.

I've had that happen when the engine guys closed the door on me while I was putting the interior back in. There's usually a handle on the inside. It's dark as hell in there when it happens. Not sure why dude didn't just open the door back up. That would have thrown an error so the flight crew didn't take off.

I’ve always had concerns about how the baggage door on those commuter jets is only about a foot in front of an engine…seems like loose tags and stuff could easily drift into an intake and cause loss of power during T.O.

A loose baggage tag isn't going to do any meaningful damage to a turbofan that size...if anything bigger ever got into the engine from the cargo bay, it means the plane has much bigger problems.
