Every single one of the big telecommunications companies sucks. Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, CenturyLink, Cumblast, Time-Whorner, all of them. I used to work for one of them as an engineer; I'm glad I went elsewhere.

I've found that they vary by region, and even the services vary quite a bit by region. Comcast at my in-laws in CT was VERY different than Comcast here in Baltimore county (not City). Other than pricing structure, I ALWAYS had good luck with Comcast here, and great service (as well as a grand total of 10 minutes of outage over a 10 year span). I've moved to FiOS as the pricing I got on it to switch was great, but I think I'd rather go back to Comcast Xfinity here. So much better customer service and uptime, as well as much better internet service. And vastly more choices on demand.
