Just saw that Tim Suddard won his class with a TR3 at Lime Rock Historics.
Yeah, he's still on the road, but Tim was pretty over-the-moon about winning. He loves that silly car.

Margie, please refresh my memory..wasn't his TR-3 one of the first projects featured in CM after y'all bought BC&B & renamed it? I still remember how he talked about retaining the hand-painted numbers on it.
It was good practice for the Gp.44 GT-6, I suppose? Here's hoping y'all got what it was worth at Monterrey..(insert thumbs up icon here)
Edit: DOH! I should check over there more often.

Yep, it was in many ways the inspiration for Classic Motorsports. He really connected with that car, both because it seems to fit his driving style and because its history seemed so relatable for us: Raced and rallied from new by a husband and wife team, and then lovingly put to bed before the husband passed away... We bought it when the kids were little, and Millie, the original owner, shared lots of stories of her own now-middle-aged kids' childhood memories of the TR3.
The Group 44 GT6 was in most people's eyes a graduation from the TR3, but in truth, the older car just suits Tim's style more, on every level.

I remember reading about that car since it was adopted into the stable.
I've always tried to follow this car, since a dude I know wrenches on a similar Triumph for a guy named Jeff Snook. Plus I just love those cars.
Happy to see Tim still running it, and really happy to see him chalk-up a win with it!!!
Reviving this thread because... He won again! Tim's bringing home a medal from this weekend's Savannah Speed Classic. Good job, babe!

Forking awesome.
I gotta get rid of my ugly ass mod car and go vintage. The field is soooo much sexier and if I'm going to lose anyway... I might as well do it in style.

They say that any day you drive it back on the trailer is a win. I say that any day that you actually win is a win because winning is hard and should be treated as an accomplishment.
Even in cases where you may be an overdog or a clear favorite, there are still a million different scenarios that could conspire to take away a checkered flag. Winning a race means that on that day, not only your skill but your equipment, your focus, your preparation and your luck all aligned.

Whaddya think I'm stoopid up in here?
But seriously. Winning is hard. Not winning is way more common that winning. When it comes around, give it a big ol' sloppy kiss.
