I just installed a brand new OMP 6-points harness in my race car. The shoulder straps works fine, but the lap belts are way to much friction in.
What I mean by that is that I can't tighten them. I pull as hard as I possibly can with both hands, but they won't tighten properly. And, of course, they won't loosen up again, without me standing on my knees and pulling like a madman.
I've never had this issue with any harness before, new or "worn in". Do I put some silicon spray on it? Some wax? It's FIA-approved equipment, so technically, I'm not supposed to do anything to it.
I can't use it like this, but I'd prefer to solve the issue rather than returning it, since it fits so well in the car.
I find that my lap belts start to work nicely just as the expiry date approaches.
I think its generally a problem with material that's too stiff, not a bad adjuster design. I also think they need to come up with some sort of ratchet tightener so I don't have to herniate myself pulling on lap belt tails while sitting in the car. I have caused a muscle cramp in my chest a hundred times...

We had that problem in our GT-3 car, and the owner found a harness with a ratcheting lap belt from Crow racing. Designed for Sprint cars, but works awesome!!! I believe other companies are starting to make the rachet-types, as well.
