I believe that because of the lack of snow, the Polar Bear hunt has been restricted to the Mississauga region this year. Hardly worth it when you consider what the hotels are charging nowdays to prepare the pelts for export. Save your money for the seal hunt if you must.

So Canadians are uncomfortably nice! Before I got used to it I was always expecting then to start a spiel along the lines of "do you want to hear about our lord and savior, Wayne Gretzky, eh?"

Super nice people and excellent food. Schedule was basically this:

Friday Get in at 1 AM - Sleep Sat Morning - Walk to "Hank's" for breakfast. Cappucino+ breakfast poutine is a great way to start the day Walked to the distillery district which was a quaint little area but not much going on in the morning. Then we went to the St Lawrence Market and ate cheese and things dunked in mustard. I had a peameal bacon sammich was excellent but I made the mistake of eating it before realizing the plethora of condiments on the side counter. Doh!

Then we went to Porchetta & Co for lunch. This is about the time we started realizing everything was cash only and we were a bit short. We were enjoying our sammiches + truffle sauce when a little Canadian came over and said she overheard how we didn't have cash to buy drinks and offered to buy us drinks. So nice!

Then we walked to Kensington Market to check out the scene. Neat area, drank more cappucinos and had some cupcakes. Drove around town a little and then went back to the hotel room.

DINNER WAS FANFREAKING TASTIC. We cabbed it over to Nana for some Thai food. In late 2014 we went to Thailand for our honeymoon and I have to admit that this place gave Thailand a run for it's money. Community style seating and the Canadians sitting next to us kept making us try their appetizers/ desserts so we bought drinks for everyone. Again, Canadians are freakishly nice and fun to be around.

Followed that up with a couple more beers at the Comedy Bar which was pretty funny and well worth the $10 + way too many ATM fees because again...everything is cash only.

Next morning we drove to Niagra falls. I was looking at places for breakfast and everything in Niagra seemed pretty bland/touristy so we detoured to St Catherines to a place called Rosies for breakfast. I ate more potatoes (house home fries which were covered in cheese, ham, spinach and tomatoes) and a side of pancakes. Excellent. Then we got to Niagra Falls just in time because parking was a breeze and there was not many crowds. The falls were impressive and we're glad we went. Hung out there for a little over an hour and then made it back to Toronto by 1pm.

For lunch we went to Burger Priest. I had a cheeseburger that was topped with two portabello mushrooms, stuffed with cheese and then deepfried. No seating there so we took our lunch to the beach nearby and people watched while we ate. Weather was gorgeous.

Went back to Kensington Market for more coffee and more cupcakes. Checked out the rest of the market that we weren't able to check out before. That was about the time we had to head to the airport/change hotels for Sunday night. We did that and then around 7:30 we went back to downtown. We tried to go to Wvrst but they were closed. We ended up at Gusto 101 for some octopus and then followed that up with Smokes for some poutine (traditional). All very tasty.

That was about it for the Toronto trip! I did get a soup+doughnut at Tim Hortons on the way out of the airport. Overall a great trip and I would gladly go back.

Cliff notes: We ate a lot.

Funny. The rest of Canada consider Toronto people to be cold and rude.

Another weird point. One of the guys on the comedy club stage is my nieces boyfriend. No, all Canadians don't know each other.
