Another Halloween is in the books--at least here on the East Coast. We had a ton of kids. For a while the street in front of our house was nothing but a sea of people. Our dogs went as Luke (X-wing) and Leia.
Popular costumes this year: Batman/Batgirl/Batwoman/Batbaby/Batkid, Captain America, Harley Quinn, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Superman/Superwoman/Supergirl/Superkid, Minions, butterflies, zombies, dead people, fairies, princes, Storm Troopers, Kylo Ren, Mario, Scooby Doo, cats.

Colin(5) got tons of compliments, going as Boba Fett. Abby(2), on the other hand, stole the show and got the "awwwwwwwwww how cute" out of everyone as a little lion. Her cast came off this morning so she didn't have to be a broken lion. Good times. My sister (thirtysomething) came with us dressed as Jerry Only, massive combed forward widow's peak and all. I went as tired carpenter guy, just like every day.

Youngest went out as ninja, my teen went out in a ballgown. I did my usual and gave out scoops of ice cream into the neighborhood kids little grubby paws.
Something about being a dead end street with only five houses on it drives away trick or treaters. Maybe it's the large neighborhoods across the way. We walked to them. Our two year old was going to be a bumble bee but we couldn't get the costume on her without a lot of fussing so we used he backup - an OSU cheerleader. She's been working on her OH-IO so there were a lot of happy compliments.

That's child abuse. Cruel.
We didn't have many kids- all the ones we used to get are mostly grown up, and the new kids are too young to be taken out. One kid was a cop, another was a storm trooper, and then a few princesses. The funny one was a dad who was dressed as a short arm T-Rex.

Between my wife and I and two kids, plus our 2 closest friend families (mom+dad+boy+girl each), we were Ms PacMan. The 4 oldest kids were ghosts, the two youngest were in the stroller with ms pacman cardboard cutouts, and the adults were all either a food dot, or a prize.
No, it was not my idea, but it did come out pretty well.
The yellow ghost is Clyde, and I think this whole costume came from the fact that Clyde is actually his name in real life.

We got maybe 2 dozen kids over the course of the evening. Some pretty decent costumes this year; I remember seeing a youngish female Green Arrow that was pretty well done with a group of other superhero friends.
Our kids are grown, but DD#2 went as a variety of things over the college Halloween weekend.
