Thank you. That one has been added to my short list. So far I've found these:

Also found this one. Drool. Perfect. Twice what I want to pay, but the right one might come along.

The other issue I'm looking at right now is transporting it. Either I buy a daycab to tow it and it sits for a year while I fix up the trailer, or I have the trailer delivered and buy a daycab when its done. Hmmmmm.

Also, just learned an important nomenclature distinction.

Typically, a Moving van has a modest drop, 22.5" wheels for a larger diameter and greater weight capacity. Then tend to make up for a little extra space with belly boxes since the floors are a bit higher to keep them flat (without wheel wells.) Like this:

What I think I'm seeking is called an "electronics van" which uses 17.5" wheels, has a deeper drop (lower deck) and no belly boxes. Like this earlier photo I posted. Note the deeper drop and smaller tires and no belly boxes:

And then I found this one which looks like the low-deck Electronics trailer, but WITH belly boxes. Just a shame they're asking crazy money for it.

What about renting a tractor for a day or two?

I kinda like the idea of the larger belly-boxes. Good place to put deep cycle batteries and water tanks.

Agreed, but its kinda 6 of one, half a dozen... The belly boxes are nice for storage, but I could also put those tanks ON the floor and build a raised bathroom over them. That would mean the tanks would share more inside (heated) air than outside and make the risk of freezing less likely (provided the heat is on).

That last one I posted has the 17.5" wheels, a deep drop like an electronics trailer, AND belly boxes.

Yeah... and I looked into having one in IL shipped to me in PA. $485. That's cheaper than it would be for me to drive out and tow it back.

How is the trailer project going? I have a Volvo VNL with big sleeper and a 53' drop deck trailer that is 14' high; two floors and has dual axles and single tires... leaving space to put car in back. 73' total length... planning to move in next year and roam... Would love to swap ideas. clayton at thegov dot org
