I expect the worst and try not to make connections too tight , because chit happens ,
But you also have to understand the system , If a flight is canceled they do not book you on the next days flight , so you need to do it yourself , even if you need to call the Airline booking in another country !
I was stuck in London and called back to the USA as all the UK lines were hours of waiting time !
And ask for a voucher , food or hotel if overnight , works best if you have Gold card !
