Two tours in Vietnam and this was the first time I got a benefit. My local barbershop, Great Clips gave me a haircut for free. The great thing is I didn't even have to show a copy of my DD214 they took my word. Really great feeling.

OTOH, all my grandfather got friom his tour of the Pacific during the 1940s unpleasantness was a couple tattoos, a pilot's licence, skill in welding, alcoholism, and alcoholism-induced diabetes that cost him a leg in '77, and the other leg in '88 not long before he died of failure to keep living.
(says the guy who had half a bottle of Knob Creek for breakfast because he had a migraine all berking Saturday night and hasn't slept since Friday because MIGRAINES SUCK, GET ME A DRILL TO LET THE DEMONS OUT)
