FF7 is when the series became dead to me artistically:

a) no more Yo$hitaka Amano art and

b) the invasion of JPOP fashion design for the character art.

I still have an unopened copy of that game. Go look at how much $$ those are pulling. I bought it about 8 or so years ago with the intension of playing it again and never opened it.
