Went to a local hot rod/ custom car show on Saturday. We go every year, usually with my buddy's 57 Plymouth, but he just installed a front disc brake set up and didn't get the bugs worked out in time.
It is a very good show, live bands, pin-up girl contest, swap meet, all for charity. This year unfortunately it was cold and rainy which affected attendance, and the cute girls in their victory rolls, and seamed thigh highs where trying to stay warm and dry :(
The hard core guys and gals were there and it was still fun. Here are a few shots I took, hope you all enjoy!
I also really liked this 53..
But since I am building one of my own, I am probably biased

That's usually a pretty good show-- I haven't gone since the moved from the fairgrounds in Maquoketa.
I remember the pictured car (or one very much like it) with the name "Statutory Grape" painted on the side of it.
You going to try and get to the cruise in Vinton this year? Looks like it's July 23rd, usually something like 400 cars. Good event, though I usually recall it being hotter than hell.
PS -- I don't know if they still do it or not, but they'd have the dirt circle track open at the fairgrounds open, complete with a mud hole to let folks demonstrate they weren't just show cars.

Damn.I miss that show every year.

Yeah the still do the dirt track runs, but Dubuque fair grounds won't let them run if it is too sloppy. Funny you posted that video... the knuckle head in the top hat at about the 58 second mark is me
Didn't know about the show in Vinton, wil have to see what is happening around then. I know I am going to corvettes on the river in LaClaire on 8-27 and the rally-cross nationals, and probably Goodguy's heartland nationals in DSM over the 4th of July.
Also FYI Iowa Region SCCA is having a rally-cross event June 5th in Ames
