No kidding. As long as we're in the top five we're fine. I'm pretty confident that we'll own the live portion. That being said, I'm scheming.

I'm guessing they got tired of the rampant cheating, so now the vote doesn't start until Feb. 5th, after all the entries are in. Honestly, I kinda thought that's what they should have done from the beginning. Anyway, I'll post something on Feb. 5th so we can kick some ass all over again!
FYI, I just got this email:
Junior League of Evansville Battle of the Bands said: Dear Battle of the Bands Contests, It has been brought to the Junior League of Evansville and the Evansville Morning Rotary's attention that someone is gamming the system. The issue has been investigated and we have evidence that the Battle of the Bands Semi Finals online voting is not reflecting human input but software input. In order to keep the integrity of the both organizations, the bands, that are competing and the contest itself we will be taking the following action: As Stated in the Rules in Guidelines- The Junior League of Evansville and Evansville Morning Rotary reserve the right to make the changes to the rules and regulations of the contest as well as the final word in any disputes that should arise concerning the contest. All band members must sign the registration form acknowledging they have read and understand the outlined rules. All band members under 18 must have signed consent from a parent or guardian. Bands must be present for the announcement of the winners. 1) We will be removing all current casted votes (meaning everyone will start at 0 with a clean slate) 2) We will leave the contests names and MP3 on rockinrivercityride.org so the public can continue to listen to the band and give the bands exposure. 3) We will continue to accept band entries until 12am February 5, 2012 as stated in the rules and guidelines (Entries will be accepted NO LATER than February 4, 2012) 4) Voting will then reconvene for all contests 12am February 5, 2012 5) We will no longer allow the public to vote in an unlimited fashion 6) We will limit the voting to 1 votes from a single IP 7) Voting will stop on March 1,2012 at 12:00am 8) We will now announce the Final 5 on March 1, 2012 on rockinrivercityride.org , juniorleagueofevansville.org and the Rockin River City Ride Facebook Page. The 5 Final bands will also receive a personal phone call from a Rockin River City Ride Committee Member 9) All other rules and guidelines will stay as stated in the original document 10) All contestants will be required to email the Rockin River City Ride Battle of the Bands at rivercityride@yahoo.com stating that they understand and agree with the changes that have been made on January 18, 2012 to the Rockin River City Ride Battle of the Bands Contest. Both organizations have met and feel that this revision is in the best interest of all parties. We are committed to not only putting on a great show but to the integrity of the contest as well. We hope you would agree.
It was fun while it lasted
I'm sure we can still get enough votes from different IPs to put Dang Heathens in the lead.

I'm sure our friends at the Rockin River City Ride Battle of the Bands will be pleased to know that their advertising efforts have reached the UK!

Or we can just get everyone to vote, from as many computers as possible.

I wonder how many of the nearly 1 million total votes were from not-evansville?

Yes, but you're probably running private IP addresses internally (e. 192.168.x.x or 172.16.x.x) and that then run through a proxy/gateway to get to the outside world. If that's the case, all those computers in the lab will look exactly the same to the server running the contest
