I got together with Curmudgeon, Strike_Zero, and Secretariata tonight. I had never met any of these guys before tonight, I actually live on the completely opposite coast. But, guess what? We met and ate burgers and laughed and shared stories like we were old friends. I don't know of (or feel comfortable enough with) any other group of online folks where this could happen. Thanks everyone (especially PJ, Steve, and Mike) for being awesome! That is all.
As the saying goes, 'Pics or it didn't happen'.
Had a great time, guys! Even with the smoke...
Don't know about the rest of 'em, but Mike is a cool motherberkeleyer whom
I love.
poop, I thought it was just that one night...
Great bunch of people to hang out with!
Had an awesome time reconnecting with Curmudgeon and finally remembering I met Secretariata (Lizard a few years ago . . . I promise I only had two glasses of beer for dinner
Glad we made your visit to The Metro a little more bearable DustoffDave!
Looks like they had a half-decent beer selection! Where's toyman???
It was good to meet up with some local folks from the forum. The food was good despite the fact that it seemed like we were sitting in a smoker! Hope Dave enjoys our fair city during his visit. We should do this again or somethin'...
Ok, which one of you is the girl in the green shirt?

A table of car dorks, if ever I saw one
OK So I can identify Strike_Zero and DustoffDave from their profile pics, I'm gonna guess Curmudgeon is the guy in the back right because he looks the most curmudgeony , Secretariata is in the right foreground and the blonde girl is somebody's daughter.
I've hung out with a lot of GRMer's over the last couple of years. Maroon92, Fit_Is_Slo, Anti-Stance, Matt B, Poopshovel, Aussie, ect ect.
Can't ask for a nicer group of guys to talk about cars and waste time with. You guys are the smartest guys I know!

Secretariata will not be happy with you... The young lady (yeah, right) is the Curmudgeonling. I'm glad she got her momma's looks!
If you're gonna use that username you can't let people take pics of you looking so cheerful

pretty much sums up my feelings as well
Looks like you guys (and gal) had a great time! If I ever get to travel anywhere for work I will have to see if there are GRMers about to have some dinner with.

While we're apparently in our own GRM "Summer of Love", I'll go ahead and wholeheartedly agree. It's almost uncanny how well both Michelle and I end up getting along with this bunch of dirty, non-P.C., hair-brained miscreants.
Maroon92 had never actually met me and IIRC we were barely familiar with each other from the forum. That didn't stop him from driving 50+ miles across Atlanta on his 50cc Honda, just to help me redo the timing belt and water pump on the MR2.
Also, I probably wouldn't have become friends with Karl & Marie la Follette if I hadn't just happen to see he needed a place to park the Taco truck in Stone Mountain before the Mitty. Good times ensued.
That's not to mention all the awesome people we've run into at the Mitty, Petite LeMans, autocrosses, & whatever. DukeofUndersteer, Friedgreencorrado, Poopshovel, Aussiesmg, Killerclown, Fit_is_Slo, and several others I can't even remember at the moment (I blame the free drink tickets at the Mitty). I can honestly say this forum has actually enriched my REAL life, not just the online version.

My wife was amused!
I do have a no soliciting sign on the front door that shows a person getting beaten with a stick...
