Website registration - favorite provider?

What do you all prefer for website registrations? I have a few I need to register. And is it worth paying the extra fees for a private registration?

Domain registrations? I use hover.com and am very happy with them.

I use 1and1.com - but I only have a domain for email, so I really can't speak to their web hosting or anything.

I used domains by proxy by godaddy.

I've used bluehost, Domain Discover and some other one that I forget now. Really, they're not much different for just domain name registration.

Private registration will keep junk mail away, such as the official looking phishing letter from "Domain Registration of America" or whatever it is that always shows up when the domain's getting close to renewal. As long as you're smart enough to realize that's not from your registrar, I wouldn't bother.
