There have been some great threads about music (jazz, punk, heavy metal, etc) and I have got some great suggestions. I want to get input from the collective on my favorite genre of music: "comedy music that's actually pretty good". Bear with me here, I know it's a bit odd.
I love Tenacious D. The album is really funny, but the music is actually really good. (IMO) Dave Grohl collaborated with them quite a bit.
South Park: The Album. Again, funny, but the music is really good (IMO) and there are a lot of great collaborations.
I'm the Only Gay Eskimo: No idea who did this song or where I got it, but it makes me laugh and its a decent tune. OK, not real PC, but still.
Kevin Bloody Wilson: Back in college we used to play songs from Kevin at parties. In mixed company. Girls were not always impressed, but sometimes...
Blues Brothers (original and 2000): I know traditionalists pan both albums, but for a comedy movie(s) the music is pretty good and there are some great performers on both.
And that's all I got. There has to be other albums/soundtracks that were done to be funny, but turned out pretty good. Any suggestions?
et al Monty Python movies.
Do hilarious mashups that "work" count?
Or just a genre of music that's funny in general? Because "Electroswing" is hilarious to me.

Flight of the Conchords.
Among my favorite bits of theirs, The Humans Are Dead.
But also check out some of their others, which perhaps get rolling quicker; Sugar Lumps, Business Time, Hurt Feelings, You Don't Have to be a Prostitute.
A lot of Dethklok's songs are self-parodying
deadmau5 - Screen Door
El Superbeasto soundtrack.
That's what I can think of right now, I'm sure I can find some more after work.
"The Only Gay Eskimo" is by Corky and the Juice Pigs.

King Missile: Detachable Penis and Jesus Was Way Cool.
Just in case nobody knows what ElectroSwing is... (Might also be called Chicago House?)

That's Caravan Palace - Clash
E36 M3 is SERIOUSLY funny to me.
I'm also surprised that nobody has mentioned Richard Cheese yet.

I'll second Flight of the Concords. If you want to go a little more offensive, you might give The Frogs a listen.
Oh yeah, DEFINITELY King Missile! Mystical $hit is a great album.

What the... ?
I can't even figure out what I think of that... I've got Invader Zim in my head going "Worse? Or... Better?"
Now I'm waiting for the mashup/remix/etc crowd to find Scott Joplin. That's going to be awesome...
EDIT: No. No it's not. And don't search for it.
Spose and Macklemore are sort of in this vein too.

Macklemore only has one song like that, though.... It wasn't meant to be serious other than to rebel against the consumerist society we live in.
The rest of his stuff is good.... but depressingly serious.
That said... the first time i heard "Thrift Shop" i LAUGHED hard.

Another vote for King Missile: also try "I Am A Sensitive Artist".
Almost anything by Ween falls into this category. I am exceptionally happy when I hear "Monique The Freak", "Blue Balloon", "Tastes Good On The Bun", "Your Party", and a bunch of others. Those guys have an absolute ear for deciding what style a particular song should be in, and then nailing it out of the park.

I think some of the E36 M3 that The Bloodhound Gang comes up with is hilarious.
If you have a 12 year old boy's sense of humor, Insane Clown Posse can be fun.
Defacto: Weird Al.

No one has mentioned Psychostick? For shame!!! Saw them live a few years ago. One of the most entertaining shows I've been to.
Back to actual music - Tom Lehrer. Science and piano. The Elements is a great parody of G&S, the Masochism Tango provided me with much entertainment when I was younger, and there are a bunch of others. Warning, it tends to the clever. Available on the YouTubes.
If you like mashups, I've got one that mixes Eminem and Hocus Pocus by Focus, done by Soundhog. It's most excellent. It's called "Shady's out of focus", and I don't know of any online places to listen to it.
In reply to Keith Tanner:
You beat me to Tom Lehrer. "The Vatican Rag" ranks with any comedy bit ever done.
Zappa. Everything else pales in comparison. I vote for Billy the Mountain or Moving to Montana, but there's literally hundreds to choose from.
