I was just checking in a customer's kid's bike for repair and went to pull a white string that had gotten wrapped around the rear axle. I did not see the small red thing attached to it until it went off in my hand. Yep, some sort of pull-n-pop firecracker just went off in my hand. Ow. berkeleying kids. Scared the E36 M3 out of the dad, I'm just glad he was here to see it happen. He said, "Somebody's gonna get a whoopin'". Yay.
Now, my hand is numb and throbbing, like after you run a string trimmer for an hour. I call it 'Rubber-Band hand'. How's your Monday starting off?
I wouldn't let dad off lightly when he comes to pick it up.
"Maintenance Person" at the building is scraping to repaint the windows, and scraped clean through the main internet and cable wire. Says he didn't do it; it's next to where he was working, and you can see the scrape marks. Landlord is getting the comcast service call bill on this one. This is why I don't bundle services. At&t internet.
Round this neighborhood a bang means someone got shot. Its been a good Monday here. Friday I almost gave a truck driver a whoopin.
Play soccer? Should have wailed, held hand in the air, jumped around, and fell on the ground in pain. Then a trip to the ER, just to check for possible hair-line fractures.
Or
His kid's bike is going to require THAT SPECIAL part, that's hard to get, made in low numbers, and, well, "I'm sorry, but it's not cheap..."
Not to bad aside from being tired. Spent all day on the firing range having some .22 fun then went to the drive in last night. A little tired this morning but not to bad.

Wife called me and said "contractions". We're about 3 weeks ahead of schedule at this point. IDK if it's falsies yet or not.
I am struggling to get this back seat out of the Volvo. Has some sort of metal clip that needs to be pulled out (which i did), then needs to be tapped forward to get the pins cleared of the clip, then pulled up and out. Easy right? Not so much. Stupidest design i have ever come across.
Oh, I am the only employee at our business today for all of North/South America. Yea, phones are ringing...

My morning started out about midnight with a deep, hacking cough. Wet. So much phlegm, I had a LOT of trouble catching my breath. Drugs, tea, water, a lot better at 2:45PM, but still muy tired from all the activity.

Early congrats!
My Monday has been going well for having had about 3 hours of sleep.
1) Watched Event Horizon (what a badass movie, the acting was actually relatively good, but the whole "I'm going to run away by myself towards the hallucinations" bit got a little old). I'm not afraid of anything, but a good horror-esque movie always gives me a bit of a fright because I allow myself to become fully engaged with the story... oh, and this picture (DO NOT CLICK IF YOU DON'T WANT NIGHTMARES, it is SFW)
http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u64/TykTauk/N0qen.jpg
2) Somebody in the condo complex was playing music until 2 in the morning. Fuuuuuuuu.
3) We had a wicked thunderstorm roll in at about 5 o'clock. All night, it was about 20+*C and humid (humidity is unheard of in Alberta, this is the most humid it's ever been here in about forever). And then this E36 M3 starts to happen:
Straight up war of the worlds, lightening everywhere, hazy orange coloring to everything, thunder shaking the building apart. It was almost like being in a dream, and the weather went from 20*C and humid to gale-force winds and absolute flooding downpour!
Wow, that's got everything. A car, goats, a... thing... some writing about... something...
Outstanding.
Margie

For some reason, I looked at the burnt out bike and thought "Good lord, someone's made a motorcycle out of wood again". Took my eyes a while to identify burned out patina.

That is an absolutely burly picture right there. I love it.
Fortunately the firecracker did less damage to me than whatever happened to that scooter.
Lets see, got up and did my morning yoga to loosen up the back - and my back has hurtlike hell ever since. got to make a service call on a sign for a creepy lady that actually grabbed my beard and tugged, asking "what's all this about?" I told I had it many years before the LAST time I was out there. And quit trying to friend me on FB. Emergency call to fix a sign at a school, walked into a wasp nest but only managed to get stung once, then had to continue working on the sign and still have to go back tomorrow.
Ahhh, Mondays.

Meh. Had a nice lunch with my cousin, her five kids, and my 87 year old great aunt. Unfortunately, I found out that I will probably be without AC in the miata for the rest of the summer unless I can make enough money to pay tuition, rent, and then have the $600 leftover to pay for a new unit (just one shop, I'm sure I can find someplace to do it cheaper).
Pretty good. I've finally decided on my next firearms purchase (Kahr CW9). I'm still on the hunt for my next fun car (TII if I can ever find a reasonable one). All in all not too bad.
I have a 2001 toyo coro that I actually took to the dealer for a quick buy out , we repo d it and had a offer of $3500 . But cash has not showed up to the front door . SO WE are waiting to hear from stealership 2001 tota corolla CE 77000 miles . And we have 3 goats in the back of our shop eating grass . We had a tow call for sheriff 3:45 this morning a burner <<<burnt crispy vehicle : scooter

Still, you should wrap your hand in gauze and put your arm in a sling when the bike gets picked up.
This was the little bugger that got me. The string of one of these was wrapped around the rear axle and I started pulling on it to free it - totally didn't see the little red bit there where it says fireworks in tiny print I found the remnants when sweeping up the shop at the end of the day, damn thing had all but disappeared after it happened.
My hand is probably going to make it still feels tingly like I whacked it really hard on the counter, and the spot where it lit up feels like a regular burn but that's limited to just my thumb and index finger where it was pinched as it went off.
ah Monday.. my sunday ended at 3am this morning.. after a 20 hour stint Loading in Rhianna at the Borgata yesterday.. then the show call, and finished up by loading her out.
7am.. woken up by my too noisy neighbors
8am.. woken up by my phone.. Mom, Sis, and my niece are coming to visit for a couple of days starting tomarrow.
This would not be a bad thing.. but my place is totally ripped apart and boxed as I am getting ready to move.. AND I have old friends back in town.. that my mom was happy to tell me were in town (thanks to FB) but now I can't see them because I have to entertain family... wonderful timing

Number one son was born on a monday, for that reason. Hope it turns out well. He's 13 now.
