It got to 83°F here today but the low tomorrow is supposed to be 33°F. I won't complain (too much ).
I do worry about my kids though. They live in Rockford, IL with my ex. She drives a late '90s Durango with no heat and broken 4wd. I always worry about them when the weather is crappy (which is like 3/4 of the year up there).
Yeah it was shorts and sleeveless shirt working on the car today. Might have put on pants tomorrow

I'd considered picking up a generator Friday just in case, but honestly I'm glad I didn't. I'm not sure I could keep the snow off it long enough to keep it running!
They stay pretty clean on their own. Might have to brush the top off to get to the fuel filler, thats it.

Posting from the phone due to insanity........probably 30-40mph winds whipping wet snow around......it sticks to everything. I've been watching what collects on the power lines fall off and arc across the others.
Edit: And now I guess I need to fire up my genset to plug the furnace in.......I figure I'll kick the furnace up to 80* in the meantime. FML.
Erie is getting some extra snow this year. We should normally have about 39" for the season by now, but we've had over 75". The bitter cold should arrive Monday night. Nothing shuts down for snow up here.
In reply to Nitroracer:
I grew up in michigan a lot farther west from where I am now. So we had lake effect weather. 5-6" of snow or 0 weather shuts down everything in the Detroit area, I drove to high school in that much/cold all the time. Its great, everybody freaks out while I get a day off.

Yep, power didn't come back this time.......took some fiddling, but I managed to get the ancient Colman fired up and moved to the garage. Currently powering my fridge, central air furnace, and alarm clock. Also plugged in my new droplight to it out in the garage so I can easily tell if its still running.
I swear, one of these days I'm just buying an old 2 stroke Detroit powered genset. They're on CL locally for reasonable during the summer.

Oh, and what was 13" of wet snow has now formed drifts nearly 6ft tall in places.
It's 63 right now, at 7:40am. I drove in this morning with the window down. This is the high for the day though.
By 7:40pm it's supposed to be 40.
12 hours after that, it will be 17 and the high for tomorrow is 35. We get one or two days a year like this.
I'm just glad winter finally showed up.
GRRRRR. Yesterday, strong wind from the Northeast, so I shoveled everything to the west side of the driveway to keep if from drifting back in. Unfortunately, it was snowing so hard I still had to shovel three or four times. Today, strong wind from the west, so I got to shovel everything (probably mostly the same snow) to the east side of the driveway. When I got to the last 20 feet of the driveway, my buddy shows up to ask me if I need the driveway plowed. Oh, and its pretty cold out there.
I think I'll console myself with copious amounts of coffee and GT 6.
High today was forecast to be 52, it's changed to 48 and it's currently 44. The low tonight has been revised to 12 degrees. Brrr.

Ha, got out just in time!
Then again working for government up there allowed a certain flexibility.
The fog here this morning was terrible, I couldn't see twenty feet ahead. On the way in, I followed an 18 wheeler on the logic that he could see further ahead and if he couldn't, we'll at least he would clear a path. It's supposed to drop 45degrees tonight creating an ice skating rink for tommarow's drive in.
