I seem to attract the crazies like flies, and for whatever reason they're all instantly comfortable enough to divulge everything to me. Some of them obviously aren't bright enough to have a clue about reality or "the truth", but the ones who are - people with good education/degrees/professional careers, yet still believe even the most extreme of these conspiracy theories - these are the people who really intrigue me. Much like rumors and stereotypes, I figure there's likely a nugget of truth buried somewhere in the bullE36 M3, and I like hearing how they piece it all together.

From my take on it all, I see a strong psychological resemblance between spirituality and some of these theories - and before anyone attacks, no, I'm not discounting or disputing anyone's beliefs - quite the opposite, actually. Some people need to believe in [insert deity of choice] for their life to feel fulfilled, and that's a cool & Very Good Thing. Most people who are true believers in their given faith are better people because of it. However, for some reason these conspiracy theorists need to believe in aliens/bigfoot/ghosts/government coverups/etc. Otherwise, their life/world/place within it, all start to lose meaning.

It's tough to keep a secret in a room of 2 people, conspiracy theories always crack me up.

We used to have a guy that hung out with our group, and one day we picked him up at his house. It was FULL of guns and body armor. Not sure what happened to him, but he always went on about how people follow him and were out to get him. Never did see his face on the news thank goodness.

I wouldn't worry too much about this guy, but I would distance myself from him as much as is possible in a work situation. Life's too short for all of that.

I personally have a theory if everyone raced cars, the world would be a much better place. It's hard to be angry at the world when you are on track!

one of our "casuals" (work on demand people) is both a school teacher AND one of those people who gets wrapped up in conspiracy theories. He is great fun to wind up and walk away from
