Against everyone's advice, and much to the chagrin of several members here, I departed mn with all of my earthly belongings 9am cst yesterday. 1560 miles, 7 states, 4 hours of sleep at a truck stop and 27 hours later, I am setting up my life in central florida. No more snow.
For the sake of all of us who remain in the midwest, just remember how much you hated all those "wearing shorts in January" posts. Good luck with the move.

As sick as it is, I want this to happen. So I can go out, get pulled over, and show them my mn dl....and be like "what now". I even brought a scraper for lulz.

And endless toyota parts.
Best wishes in getting reestablished in FL. No emissions laws, safety inspections consist of a seat belt and headlights, and parts are rust free (but sometimes flood damaged).
Give us some updates on how the imagineered city has fared.
Now, now. It's not very expensive.
Off the top of my head:
Fee if you don't have a plate to transfer: $225
Title transfer fee: $85
Plate fee: $30
Registration fee (weight dependent, but doesn't change much): $40
See? It's less than $400 to put a new vehicle on the road. I pay about $150/year in registration fees for my 2 cars, 2 trailers, and a boat. The yearly registration is dirt cheap.

Orlando? You're just starting to enter good Cuban food territory. Get a Cuban sandwich and side of tostones for me, washing it down with a cafe con leche.

he moved from a state that also has zero emissions testing, and the process for registering your car every year consists of going to the DPS or a deputy registrar and giving them however much money it says to give them on the piece of paper they send you... after a car is 7 years old- i think- it only costs $35 a year to license it...

Yeah, the only real difference is rust.
