... And Justice for All

Been listening to this one for a few days now, still one of my faves.

AJFA used to be too melodic and complex for me to feel like I should enjoy.  As the emperor said in Amadeus, there's just too many notes.

Then I keep finding weird E36 M3 like this:

(It's got redundant bits removed to make it not nine minutes long.  Yes, she plays the solos from the last half, including the epically awesome final descending solo with all the bends, and it WORKS on this instrument)

Listening to this with my good ear anyway.  Not sure how I feel about it:  there is a LOT of energy happening here.  BUT.  The song is bass-centric, the bass leads the guitars, instead of the other way around as is normal practice.  And the "BUT" is because they downplayed the bass to a huge degree, because not-Cliff I guess.

Just to make you feel old: This video is older now, than the original Woodstock was when they played this.

I saw that tour.

They played the entire side one without any breaks and I don't think anybody expected what they got that night

Again ... East of the Sun, West of the Moon

This time, it's Scott Hamilton doing the same song, somewhere in Europe. Scott's originally from RI, USA. I've seen him perform locally, many times. But he did well in his career and is an international jazz phenom.

Time After Time - Ben Webster

Hangin' out  with Annie in front of our fireplace with a roaring (real) fire, and listening to vintage jazz. Ben Webster caught my attention ... along with a few other great tenor sax artists from the era.

Not sure if I posted this before, but I'm listening to it again.

I like this kind of semi-ambient music when I'm working in the garage.

Meat Loaf at His Best

"Barely seventeen and barely dressed."  You know, back in the seventies, I wasn't a fan of Meat Loaf. But today, in 2020, I think he was a fantastic performer, as well as a great singer (opera trained)  and producer. Today, I think it's one of the best music videos ever produced.
