Yeah, but this is also the thread where you post the most obscure crap you're listening to in order to get some sort of "cred", while at the same time not clicking anything linked.
What I am listening to: New Zealand rotary cruise videos.
Let me play you the song of my people:

But I do listen to the posted links of what others are listening to. I've found some pretty good music here I otherwise wouldn't have known about. I've said this before several times, that's what I like about this thread.
For something obscure and which happens to be crap ... The Fugs: Boobs a Lot
(A POS from my mid-sixties dorm and fraternity days. I didn't include a link because it's so bad. But I did find the obscure song we listened to and loved then. Thankfully I appreciate better music now).

Matt Koelsch and the Allies: Island Eyes studio version

A somewhat "obscure" artist from the Boston area who alternates performing at clubs in the Boston-Providence corridor and SoCal. I've seen him perform live in both SoNE where I live, and in SoCal where I vacation often. He was recently eliminated early-on from "The Voice" tryouts in SoCal, so he'll remain obscure and I can continue to post his work here. I
The radio played the long, long version of The Isley Brothers Summer Breeze this morning. I turned it way up.
Swinging Love Hammers - Trees
Not their strongest song but not bad, lead singer placed second on the "replace Michael Hutchence" show.

Man, that guy sure dodged a bullet.
And INXS totally destroyed what little credibility they had left.
It's been a Jawga Boyz, Demun Jones kinda day. I really need to quit watching these videos. Seeing rednecks that look like me, playing in mud in trucks worth more than my house almost has ME making hick hop cds.
Seems simple enough, find 6 good mud bogging words, put a beat behind them, and find hot girls to play in the mud while it's filmed and BOOM million dollars.
Hmm... maybe autocross rap could be next big thing?

Nice track, good race, beautiful Austrian scenery, interesting fans. Only thing missing was Unknown Hinson singing "Back Home Again In Spielberg" before the start.

I can't stop hitting "replay." I've probably listened to it 20 times this morning (fortunately it's short.) I'm not kidding.
I'm almost 50. I shouldn't like this song.
I've listened to it a dozen times in the last week. I like most of his stuff and don't even speak the language. He has a spectacular voice.

Sometimes it is better if you don't understand the language. That way you hear the voice as an instrument and aren't distracted by the actual words.
I'll admit to having listened to that song today as well. Along with this one.

It's hard to go wrong with early/mid nineties alt-rock.
I think I blew out a speaker in my work van from Sonic Youth yesterday morning. Ok, it was probably a song from the eighties, but they were totally years ahead of their time. Besides, I never heard them until the nineties anyway because I grew up in NJ, and all we were allowed to hear was Classic Rock, Hair Metal and Bruce Springsteen.

The late 90's is about when I stopped listening to mainstream country music. Somewhere around 2000 I was introduced to Chris Ledoux, and then I moved to San Antonio and was introduced to Austin's music scene I've never been quite the same after that
