'93 Miata: If you have a thing for balding 55 year old dudes, you NEED to pick one of these up. They are drawn like moths to a porchlight and WILL NOT leave you alone. Sometimes their wives like it too, but really I think that just makes it worse.
'98 328i: Surprisingly (to me) anonymous. Whenever friends/coworkers see it, they say "ooh, nice car...", but everyone else leaves me the hell alone (except maybe a few 18yo dudes who want to talk about their Dad's bimmer that he's totally going to give them for graduation). Maybe they all assume I'm just a prick who's too busy to make smallchat with strangers. Not that I'm really complaining :).

What kind of bike did you get?

I bought an older trek road bike.
Stick a Porsche badge onto a RX7/240Z and they'll flock, just don't be seen by anybody who actually knows what it is.

Hahahahahahahahaha. Aaaaaaaaaaaahahahahaha.
I laugh because I could do that with my Saturn. I could hit a cop car with it, and the cop would take off lights and sirens after the Corvette that also happened to be on the road...
No, the Saturn gets a look every once in a while, usually because a ricer sees the AEM license plate frame or hears the intake. The old green Saturn would be anonymous, even though it was loud, until I put the bronze Rotas Subzeros on it.
When I drive the parent's red '99 Miata with the Kosei wheels and Borla exhaust though, I suddenly become much more attractive to the ladies. Weird how that works. Usually jailbait-aged ones though
In the 1970 beetle I get friendly waves and what year is that? And yes the car is invisable to most other people. Its alwaly fun to pull up next to a "ricer" and start reving the engine...they just dont know what to think?

I need to get me one of them; they're not all jailbait for me yet

A few young folks have commented as to where I put the batteries, but most become silent when they heard the engine note. I'm anxious to get it back on the road with the honda power plant....that should generate a little interest, though I will miss the sounds of the 1380 and straight cut gears.
Dwight Varnes wrote: My Mini is by far the most attention grabbing car I've ever owned. Guys make fun of it, but women adore it. Sadly, I learned this about 16 years too late. Inexplicably, guys with riced out VWs fall all over themselves to wave at me.
Ya know, I think the classic mini is #2 to the Miata on this board. Mine turns heads wherever I go. Young, old... men, women... they all look. Kids ALWAYS point and smile. The bark of a 1380 with an almost straightthrough exhaust quiets comments about batteries. Fortunately, I found my mini when I was 19.
My '02 Hightop Conversion Ford van gets no attention. Blew past a State Patrol car once, at about 85.
Wife's '81 Z28 gets alot of looks. Dual Cherry Bombs are hard not to notice. Sadly, its bark is worse than its bite. Other than headers and the aforementioned CBs, it's still 1981 powered - 185hp.
The crown vic garners me no attention, (though somehow I still seem to get ticketed in it.) until the rally tires go on, then people take note.
my Mustang convertible 4cyl LX makes me look gay.
my TR7 used to get me questions on what it was. The first day I owned it, someone asked me if it was a Ferrari (I said yes)
My BGT usually gets looks, but mostly from older people. It gets the most attention when I'm not in it, strangely enough. Like, I'll be in a coffee shop and the car is parked outside on the street and people will walk around it, often older women, and you can tell some people don't know what a GT is, although they can see its an MG, which is kind of fun to watch.
Kids absolutely love it, and a wagon or minivan with kids in it is always fun on the road if they are in front of you, they will gather in the window and just watch the car drive. For some reason asian people go nuts over it, I've had my picture taken while driving many times by groups of asians I encounter in shopping districts. Bikers and Ricers both will give the thumbs up, too. Women my age seem a bit non plussed about it but they are non plussed about pretty much everything it seems anyway.
My VW Jetta gets looks, which kind of surprised me, but just because it was an 07 and I was an early buyer for the body style (in 06) and people were checking it out. Its white and it is a pretty car, though, I might say.
For really getting attention, nothing beats my 84 Benz 300D. That car gets the looks from everyone. I have read women's lips while driving that car, I BMW E36 you not. "That is a nice &*%$# car". Old folks love it, hipsters covet it for bio diesel purposes, women think its elegant and "official" looking, and everyone knows its a Benz, and a Benz, my friends, is always a Benz.
When I drove the MGB with the top down (didn't stay latched) in the pouring rain..
well....
The looks I got...
well...yeah.....kinda am crazy
The Forester turbo doesn't get any attention at all, unless I floor it away from a stoplight. The Miata didn't get much attention, other than pity (it's pretty beat up, looks wise) until I added the stripes and the rollbar, now all the local kids love it. The car that gets the most attention though, is the 1993 VW Fox. I'm not sure why, but last time we drove it we had people taking our picture on the highway and honking and waving to get our attention to yell "I love your car!" There's just something about a ridiculous paint scheme that seems to turn heads...
I've always gotten a lot of attention from both women and dudes in the Firebirds or Trans Ams I have owned. The ladies loved my last Trans Am which was red or it was the fact that I was actually in better shape when I owned it.
I do however get a bunch of dudes always wanting to talk about it. Most of the time I avoid them as I really hate talking about my own vehicle with random strangers unless it is an attractive woman. Someone says nice car I say thanks and thats cool, but when some guy tries carrying on a convo about what size my engine is and how much HP it has I get really annoyed for some reason.
My civic, it gets a lot of attention from the po-lice for no reason at all.

Tell them you ran through a police roadblock.
Without a doubt it was my '61 Fiat 600D. Everytime I drove it at least one woman would come up to me and compliment me on my car. Only a few people knew what it was, and they usually had spent time in Europe in the '60's. Women just thought it was adorable, and my friends and I refered to it as the date machine.
Second would have to be any of my old Alfa Spiders or early GTVs. They may not know why, but old Italian cars attract women like no other, as they're very elegantly styled. Old men at gas stations thought they were Fiats due to the "F" emblem on the side (Pinninfarina), and I once had a young woman come up to me to tell me how much she LOVED my Porsche.
My TR-4 also recieved it's share of compliments from women, but the MGs went by pretty much unnoticed, as did my MR2's (except for teenage boys), and most of my Miatas, except for the BRG.
On the opposite end of the scale, when I drove up in my old '70 Boss 302, women would turn and run for their lives! Most don't really care for muscle cars as much as Speed would like you to believe!
Along the same lines, the race cars that always drew a crowd were any of the Supras, but not from women. Most of the time you wonder if any of these guys had ever seen one, it was about like pulling up with a Ferrari F1 car. Always, always a crowd if it was was on an open trailer. You had better plan ahead for a gas stop as it was going to take a while. Other race cars, including the Nascar and open wheelers were somewhat invisible to the general public.

My '03 TDI wagon: little to none...
The g/f's '03 MCS: some... but not much... MINI's are kinda common in my neck of the woods...
The '07 MCc we own together: similar to above... maybe a bit more since it's a 'vert.
The g/f's '73 Volvo 1800ES: tons. Mostly, only older folks talk about it ("that's a Volvo???"), but nearly everyone looks at it when it passes them (or more common: they pass it).
The g/f's '79 Spitfire: Similar to the Volvo... With a lot of, "I used to have one of those..."
My '95 Dodge Cummins 4x4 Club Cab: Depends... on the highway - not much... around town - a bit more... mainly due to the barely muffled 4" exhaust...
I agree about old conversion vans... mine was practically invisible... I'd drive it to work, park it right in front of the office entrance, and co-workers would still ask me what I drove to work that day...
I'm looking forward to driving my newly aquired (but not picked up) Spit6.

I thought you hated Spitfires. Having an I-6 stuffed into one changed your perspective?

my purple metalflake '64 corvair spyder convertible was a huge hit with the ladies in Ocean City MD ('92 - '96). tons of hoots and hollers on Coastal Highway, and when we turned onto a side street to park, three hotties just plain opened the passenger door and climbed in with us and said "let's go." it didn't hurt that i was 5'9", 160#, and about 4% bodyfat.
i took it to a couple of local cruise-ins and it always drew a crowd.

I get a comment of some type on my '82 RX7 about every time I drive it (Sunday it was choice A, below). I took it out for a ride on father's day since I hadn't in a while and I decided it was more important to drive it than to get the hood/ fender/ bumper cover back on. That was kind of fun, to be the guy with the partial/missing bodywork for an hour or two.
Pick one of the below conversations:
A) "My son/daughter/I used to have one of those, we/he/she/they wrecked it..."
B) "You fit in that thing?" (I'm kind of a big guy.)
C) "That thing must get great gas mileage!" (I usually either laugh and say 'no, not really' or just let it go.)
D) "Dang, that thing's loud!" (Open header will do that...)
When I had my Yugo people would ask if it was the three cylinder version .???
My 91 Integra lowered and loud always gets the local ricers throwing revs .
My wifes 04 Mitsubishi Sportback RalliArt still gets lots of looks from all .
Probably wondering if it is a Volvo wagon .
My 04 GMC work van usually just gets me flaged down by contractors on the job site since I'm the only surveyor on the whole site .
And when my friend and I go crusin in his 28 Ford sedan HotRod with 6" chop and channeld over a custom frame , 16" skinny rears with wide whitewalls and a 406 stroker motor with open headers , wearin primer red paint .
Well that just gets everyones attention . Good or bad .
That car just makes you want to do bad things .
