I am going on a European trip with the family later this month and from what I've read about it the Ace Cafe looks like a good place to visit. From checking out the website they'll have a Porsche meet and a VW/Audi meet on different days starting at 6PM while I'm in town.
Is it worth visiting?
Is it safe to go up there on the tube and walk from the station at night?

How about any cool places to check out in Rome or along the way down to Pompei? My brother lives in Rome and we'll be renting a car to drive down to Pompei for a few days.
It's in a half decent area so I wouldn't be too worried about walking the 100 yards or so to the tube station.
I'm sure there will be some performance enthusiasts at the VW meet. If not we can talk about mounting BBQs on roof racks, ridiculous camber, and fake patina.
Are they in to that stuff in the UK like some of the folks in the US?
It'll be an experience either way.
Yeah, the VW guys take a lot of cues from the US scene. You'll probably see ridiculous roof racks with grandma's suitcase on them and similar stuff. The patina probably isn't fake, you just have to park your classic Bug or Bus outside long enough
.
Well it'll be cool to meet some enthusiasts from a different part of the world. Back when I had a VW I remember all the european market only parts that people in the US would go nuts over.
