Is it just me that cant see the pictures?

I think it may be an oily waste container. They are typically red or galvanized steel with a heavy self closing lid. Can't find anything else matching those pics online though.
It also doesn't say "WIT" on the lid, but the picture is too blurry and the paint too splotchy to make out the middle letter.
looks like scrap to me
Bingo, here is the same logo on an antique industrial waste can, Witt with 2 t's:
