A couple of weeks ago I was having idle thoughts about kit cars. Yes I should have gone to Carlisle. But I remembered reading about a Jeep style Peugeot (205 I believe) based kit. So googling brought me to this skimpy youtube video below. Looks a blast. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6HuXfrYL5Y&list=LLJV9W-VOTTxt2VsZzKmwKCg
For many people cars are an outfit, a means of self expression that you climb into every morning. Whether it's a Jeep or a Corvette or a Tesla, lots of people want their car to make them happy for reasons beyond logic. I've become OK with this. There is enough day to day middle class misery swimming all around me that if your car brightens your day, good for you.

A million times yes. 2 years later with the FR-S and I still catch myself looking at it and thinking, "Goddamn!" You need a little of that in your life.
I love Wranglers. Have owned a rusty, beater '87 and a 2002 Sport. They are so much fun and the kids love them.
Financially (car guys should never base car decisions on finances or Consumer Reports), it does make sense to buy new since they don't depreciate much. The catch with that idea - would you rather ding up a 10-year old Jeep Wrangler or a brand new $35-45,000 one?
