Short version of a long story, pool deck needs to be replaced because the pool needed to be replaced due to drainage issues and age. I've had fairly good experiences with pressure-treated wood, but I know the new stuff isn't nearly as durable as the old. I've been getting mixed reviews for the current iteration of Trex. What does the hive recommend?
Back 20 years ago when I go out of construction, we built a lot of decks with Iron Wood.
Test some different materials before committing.
For example, TREX sounds good on paper but it can reach a surface temperature of 180F ona sunny day and blister bare feet (seriously, it's a dangerous level of heat)

I keep hearing that. But I build with the stuff, and live on a lake in the South where people use it regularly for docks, etc. I've never seen a problem with it that's any worse than wood.
It's been in excess of 95 degrees here every day for the last month, and most docks are in direct sunlight. If some kid had been sent to the hospital I would definitely have heard about it.
I think they modified the formula for Trex a while back. In the early days there was a problem, but that was a long time ago.
