I've got a perfectly good 14.4v Craftsman drill that I've had for years.  I hate throwing away stuff that still works, but the batteries will barely take any charge. What replacement batteries have any of you guys used in this situation? Yes, I can simply go buy a whole new 20v, or 24v kit for less than $200, but it irks me to do so.

Lithium or NiCad?

Do you happen to have an older "dumb" car battery charger?

With the dumb chargers, you can sort of rejuvenate tool batteries by hooking them up for short periods of time like 5-10 minute stints on the car charger.

I've done it with NiCad a few times, but I've heard it works for lithium too, I just never tried personally

Can you get an adapter for a newer Li-ion battery to the Craftsman 14.4 socket?

They're NiCad, so I can try the dumb charger.

I'll see if there's an adapter to 14.4v. I didn't know those adapters even existed.

here are some adapters you can 3D print , I am not sure if the 14.4 battery  has the same profile as any of these ,
