So I have this tub full of GRM, Super Street, and Sport Compact Car magazines. I don't really have the space to continue storing these anymore. So any one on here want them? Can I donate them to a library? Sell them on ebay? What say the masses?

Selling them on ebay unless you have some really sought after copies is going to be very, very tedious. Only way to even reach break even after figuring out fees etc is to sell them separately IME. Depending on how many you have, you'll be busy listing them...

I may be interested in some of the older GRM and SCC mags, but that also depends on the cost of shipping. That's usually the killer for selling them as IIRC you can't send magazines media mail and paper is rather heavy.

I'm sure there are plenty of guys needing something to read in the gyno waiting room.

I have been leaving them in waiting rooms. The month I spent in a hospital I got to the point I would get different cereals for breakfast to get new boxes to read.

I am in the same boat as you. Let me know once you figure it out.

I hate to throw them away but they might go up in flames along with the Christmas tree in January.

Find an old coffee table and use car pictures from the magazines to decoupage the top of it. Sell car guy man cave coffee table for profit.

I sold a mess of old hot rod and other magazines of that type, and sent them through media mail. I didn't know you weren't supposed to.

I had a similar stash as few years ago and ended up leaving a bunch of them in waiting rooms and laundry mats and then sadly couldn't even give the rest away. I ended up recycling the last few boxes of them.

i have a closet full of a mostly complete collection of Hot Rod, Car Craft, Popular Hot Rodding, and Chevy High Performance magazines going back to about 1988 or so.. i don't want to just chuck them or burn them, but i also don't want to try to sell them and make maybe enough money to buy a tank of gas for my truck when it's all said and done... so they just sit, and get moved every time i move... those fold up Office Depot storage boxes full of magazines are pretty freakin heavy...

I've also got a 6+ tub 'Rubbermaid Library' out in the garage that I've been adding to since my first one back in '79 or so (PHR issue on '55-'57 Chevy's). They've been with me since then and I can't seem to want to get rid of them. I did get rid of the Auto Trader's though.

I use the early-mid 80's ones for the various "What Wheel?" threads that pop up here from time to time.

Locally we have several of these dumpsters at local markets. They recycle old magazines and catalogs for the Ronald McDonald House charity. This is where all mine wind up. Best use I've found for them.

Back when the 2nd Iraq war started, I sent probably 100 car and motorcycle magazines to soldiers overseas. Shipping was cheap, I had found a generic address somewhere online.

I'll be running into this issue soon as I plan on moving in the next few months and don't want to drag hundreds of magazines with me. I like having the reference library available, but don't refer to it often enough. I like a lot of the ideas here so far.

I found out about SCC and GRM from donations someone made to the USO and in my travels between city's/country's helped me get in to the sport.
