69 RS/SS Z-28 Camaro Indy Pace Car Edition
I mean, I know you were having fun throwing everything you possibly could into that name, but the Z/28 was never an Indy pace car.
OK, I stand corrected, not Indy Pace Car but still Pace Car Edition. I meant the Z11 RS/SS Pace Car Edition. White w/orange strips & orange interior, convertible, 396 w/4-speed, Cowl induction = lust.
Z11
I'd been satisfied with the 307 w/3-speed manual one that a dealer had in the used car lot at the time, circa 1976. Or a 66/67 Charger. Class of 76.

I wanted a FFR Cobra so bad in highschool that I could taste it. My tastes have changed a bit since and I am lusting over Lotuses, but last summer a friend did let me codrive his FFR at an autocross fulfilling my dreams in a way.
(me in said FFR, its supercharged and has about 550hp )
Why, that would be Cumberland MD, would it not?
Me? Class of 1969
BMW 2002; Austin Healey 3000; Triumph GT6+
Got two out of three (the GT6+ still eludes me...)
Haven't owned one... yet.
Class of '74. I wanted a 1961 Pontiac with a 348hp tripower engine and a four speed. I finally bought one about 15 years later (see my avatar.)
Class of '93 here.
I always wanted a '92 Z28 5-speed or a '87 Buick Grand National.
I even had a dream that I swapped a Doug Nash 5-speed into a GN. Not sure what that means.
My high school ride was a '85 Subaru Brat with the rear jump seats and the removable twin sun roofs. Chicks loved it.

scirroco/corrado, there were about 8 or 9 kids in my class who had em, and they formed a kind of VW club, and they were pretty great looking examples. It was an all guys HS, so pretty much the whole student body knew cars and admired those Veedubs. I liked em, but I kinda wanted a supra when I was in HS.
Corrado?

Hit me up in November/December. My company's outsourcing some of our stuff to Argentina, and they're talking layoffs. Not letting go of either of them until I'm unemployed, though!
I really liked the 2nd Gen Supra (still do, reallly...maybe one day), but I'd been out of high school for two years when they came out.
GT cars forever! Never been a big fan of the exotics (even as a kid), always considered my little British sportscars as a stepping stone (I considered my Triumph GT-6 a "half-scale" Jag E-Type), and considered my BMW sedans "almost there".
High school? Graduated 1980. Dream car then, dream car now. BMW E9.
Weird thing is, it seems that they've been just beyond my grasp for my entire adult life. I bought an E3 in 1982 for about $1600, when rough, but not rusty E9s were going for about $5-7K. I was in college then, and just didn't have it.
Best chance I really had was in the early 1990s. Good ones with the rust repaired seemed to be going for about $6-8K then. I'd just got my first real adult-style job (and salary) then, but I decided to go SCCA Improved Touring racing instead. I got divorced in the mid 90s, and didn't do anything but keep driving my little VW Mk.2 Golf that I'd bought new (for $13K..we had a kid, and the then-wife insisted I buy a new street car in 1992 because my last BMW 2002 dropped a valve seat on the way to taking our daughter to daycare one day).
Even today, I'll bet I could buy a pretty good one if I sold everything I had (the Golf, both Corrados, and putting up some of my old racing souvenirs on eBay or something... ). Good drivers seem to be going for about $16-22K, even though perfectly restored later cars with the 3.0ltr engine and the CSL package often go for much more than that at auction.
Problem is, if I did that, I'd have to use the E9 as a daily driver. And in Atlanta traffic, that can be a death sentence for a cool car. I'm already nervous enough having to use one of my Corrados as a DD right now..I really can't imagine how much more neurotic I'd be if I was using my "dream car" in that mess.
OTOH, I'm seriously thinking about playing the lottery more often..even though I know there's a better chance of being struck by lightning than there is of actually winning the stupid thing..

I wanted an E 30 M3, 2002, Grand National, or a Cummins Dodge truck.
Class of 2000 and I wanted a '68 Cougar. Now that I'm older and wiser, I want a Pro-Touring/G-Machine style '68 Cougar

Not high school, but when I was 10 Lotus unveilled a shiny new Elan. It looked like something straight out of the future, and best of all they even made it into a video game that sucked up very much of my time indeed. Oh man did I ever want one of those Elans.
Well......
In high school I was into trucks and really wanted to do up a rock crawler. My top picks were the Land Rover Discovery, original Range Rover, or Jeep Grand Cherokee. Sadly living in SW Ontario at the time meant there were very few rocks to crawl over. Never was much into mud. My parents eventually did get a JGC (years later) which I borrowed a lot but didn't really do any offroading in. Was a nice truck though.
These days I still have the nasty offroad truck burning in the back of my head, but I'd probably go for a Defender/Series LR or an older Land Cruiser instead. However I do like those older Discos.
When I was in highschool my dream car was an IROC Z28, and last week for $200 my dreams came true.
Just kidding.

The Stradale was introduced in 1967, the year before I started HS.
This design has staying-power as I still lust for it these many years later!
The Dino 206SP runs a darn close second place..........
