So, I am in a position that I am sure some of us have been in before.

I bought some wheels on e-bay, and now I am not sure I want to keep them. They are sweet old school, but I don't think they work well with my car. Here is the back story.

I have a 1990 Toyota Supra (non turbo 5 speed)

I want to paint it Audi Nimbus Grey (getting it running is the priority though)

Anyway, I have one set of Mustang 16's with R Comps for track rims, one set of stock sawblades with decent tread on all seasons, and my recently purchased set of DP Engineering 15X7 multispoke with neat old school covers and center caps.

As some of you may know, Supras sit like dump trucks. Last week I scored a set of eibachs and Koni adjustables on e-bay for 200 bucks. The eibachs will lower the car 1.3 inches, but I fear it still will not be enough to fill the wheel wells with 15 inchers.

This is the first car that I have no regard toward classing at all that I have built...it is kinda liberating.

I will probably end up keeping the stock wheels for a little while, but when the tires kick it, I might switch to something bigger. I am thinking a 17 or 18 inch wheel would look the part, probably about 8.5 inches in the rear and 7.5 or 8 inches wide in the front. Anybody know off hand what kind of offsets I should be looking for?

bolt pattern is 5X114.3 Shared with Mustang, MkIV supra, RX7, RX8, 350Z, and S2000.

Let's hear some suggestions.

Sorry for the ramble, I don't usually read posts this long, so if you didn't make it this far, I don't blame you.

FR500's

Those would look wicked on a early Supra.

I don't normally like directional wheels, but those just might work in contrast with the Nimbus Grey.

in reply to P71: The garage is slightly too dark to get a decent picture. This weekend I should be rolling it out to jockey some stuff around the garage so I have enough room to get the engine lift in front of it. I will get some pics then.

in reply to J-Bro: The car looked about like that when I got it...I have done A LOT of work to this muther. Easily the furthest I have ever gotten in a project before ADD set in.

good choices Mr. Brown... Would 18's be too much? I have been looking at 17s.

Keep in mind that it may look like a dump truck now, but a heavy engine is going in front, and these should lower it about an inch and a half.

I also like Mr. Brown's choices. While they would be the best looking street setup I'd be real tempted to go with some RPF1s, in either silver or black. A little more expensive, but a lot lighter I'd imagine and tires would be a little cheaper for the 17" rim.

*Disclaimer - I'll put RPF1s on just about anything

Bradley, If you go with the 18s I have a great set of Michelins for you if you are coming north any time soon.

RPF1s are the way to go.

RPF1s are like Panasports in that a car that doesn't look good on them won't look good on anything.
