Warm clear water, warm clear air, cheap and plentiful food, safe and easy to see new things and meet new people. I love to ride my bike, but snorkeling is a close second. Mountains and canyons are rad, but not required. No rush to be back home.

I was surprised at how Riveria Maya met these criteria as well as the Florida Keys, but even the Rideau Lakes area of Ontario does it during the summer.

Quebec girls are nuts.

13 Reasons Why You Need A French Canadian Girlfriend In Your Life

  1. We don’t pull bitch fits if our bf goes out with his friends, because we were the one planning a girls night out in the first place.
  2. When he takes a beer in the middle of the day, we open a bottle of wine.
  3. We love to cook delicious comfort food and don’t mind eating as much as our boyfriends.
  4. We are not scared to speak our minds when something does not suit us in the relationship.
  5. We don’t mind splitting the bill, because we are not the ‘’high maintenance’’ kind of girls. At all.
  6. We are not scared to live life to its fullest. We love to learn from our bad decisions and to travel with almost no clothes.
  7. We are passionate people willing to try new things in bed.
  8. Our family dinners are amazing

I've taken a lot of road trips in the past few years. I have yet to do the "big" ones (PCH, Route 66, US 1), but I feel this summer's might top all of those.

I'm driving 13 hours to Carolina, alone in the Z06. Spending a few days on the beach with amazing woman that I had unfortunately begun to pursue MONTHS after she moved.

I've been looking forward to this since January. My only fear is that the reality will never live up to my imagination.

Pursue or peruse? Both are possible, but the latter has a much more stalkerish vibe

Rent a cabin on the shore, lake or ocean. Must face east to get the morning sunshine while I enjoy my coffee and to watch the moon rise in the evening

Maybe some sort of watercraft.

Sandy beach on which to relax .

Warm water in which to swim.

Forest nearby to explore.

This is how I spent summers growing up. Would love to do it again.

Good catch.

Either/or works for me.

Very similar to my summers as a kid. I'm sad that my boy doesn't get to experience that.

Ultimate for me: Go to an airport with my backpack and tent and get the coolest cheap standby ticket I can. Wherever I land, spend as much time as I feel like spending (probably more in somewhere like Morocco, less in somewhere like Seattle), then go back to the airport and repeat. Don't judge or guess on the destination, just get on the plane. When you run out of money, stop somewhere and find work.

Repeat ad-infinitum until you realize that a house, job, and income are completely irrelevant social constructs that have no bearing on your happiness.

(Ok, I do need a garage somewhere to play with cars)
