I'm a dumpster diver. People in my condo complex throw out interesting stuff.
Today, I found a wheel. It's heavy enough that a quick trip to the scrapyard will buy me a nice lunch.
For the life of me, I can't figure out what vehicle might have used a wheel like this. You folks will know; you know everything!
19x10JJ ET79 (as marked)
8" backspacing (measured)
5x4.75" bolt circle (possibly 5x120mm?) (measured)
(It's also marked "VIA" and "JWL" which I thought might be manufacturers, but it turns out those are testing standards/agencies.)
The only other clue I have is that there is a late-model Challenger parked nearby with equally ugly Chinese wheels, but they don't match the one I found. Google tells me that a Challenger uses 5x115, but it's possible I mis-measured the bolt circle on the wheel.
Some sources say the rear wheel on certain Challengers was a 19x10, but all of the 19x10 wheels I see for that fittment have an offset of 25mm, and 79mm is way different than that.
Either way, I'm getting a free lunch, but my curious mind wants to know!

Where's those "This thread is worthless without pics" memes when you need them?

Ask and ye shall receive. Most of the markings on the back are hard to read - they're black-on-black.

Looks like a C6 ZR1 wheel, or a replica. Replicas come in a bunch of sizes. Odd thing to throw away.

In reply to conesare2seconds:
Yes, that looks like it, mostly, although the wheel I have is only chromed on the visible surfaces; the rest is black. I'm sure it's cheaper that way.
People around here throw away a lot of things. Then again, the replica wheels sell for $189 new. Whoever threw this one out had one, not a set, and it has curb rash. Taking it to the scrapyard requires effort.

Is it bent?
Not visibly, but I don't have anything but my eyes to check it with.
Even with all that offset it was hitting the caliper.
Clean it up and make a hose real out of it.

Add in 5x4.75 was(is?)the standard GM bolt pattern.
Isn't that offset closer to FWD than RWD?

FWD/RWD is really pretty irrelevant. Look up the offset on S2000 wheels.

Just my luck to get a good piece of scrap when prices are low
26 lbs. @ $0.35/lb. = $9.10.
Still, I got a nice submarine sandwich and a soft drink!
This is from an IS350 although this one is 18". There are quite a few with this design.
