When I go on rants with neighbors about keeping their cats inside for this reason, everyone thinks I'm the crazy one.

C/N: Turkeys are way meaner than raccoons, feral cats, coyotes, and deer. At least around here.No kidding. Everybody bitches about canada geese, but wild turkeys are multiple times worse.
Grandma used to have a goose. When I was 11 I was scared of the back yard. I'd like to have an honest barehand brawl with that bird today.
Id fight a turkey. One on one, just to see. If I ever get the chance, I'll make sure someone gets a video.
I've lived in the middle of a cornfield, in the suburbs of Chicago, in the city limits of Chicago, and I've spent enough time in the middle of the northwoods to pretend I've lived there.
The only place I haven't seen or heard coyotes was the middle of the cornfield. My best guess as to "why" that is is that there was still enough area around there that they wouldn't wander into the apartment complex or into town. I admit I was pretty surprised to see the one in my alley in Chicago, but I was happy to see him as he was carrying an R.O.U.S. in his mouth.
Here in my current suburb, I haven't seen or heard one in about 3 years, but I see a fox every few weeks. Posts on facebook indicate the Coyotes are definitely still here, I just haven't seen them myself.
