I wouldn't say he hangs out there. There's usually only one or two posts per month in that group.

I wouldn't know. I'm not on FB.
But I WAS a business partner of his, and that's about the number of posts that would qualify him as "hanging out"!
I am alive and well. The past year has been tumultuous to say the least, separated, divorced, work pressures, now located at the compound and keeping busy. Glad to know you all care.
Just picked up my next Challenge project last weekend.
Also glad to hear you're well. We do miss your special brand of imported insanity. With you and swank missing the idea flow around here is getting uncomfortably reasonable. It's unpleasant.
Glad to hear you're doing okay considering. I was going to text you, but thought you might think I'm strange. Well stranger than I already am.

Funny you say that, the last shouting match I got into was with my dad and uncle. They are polar opposites politically and personally. I had to yell louder than either of them, which made me mad. Not the fact that I was mad, but because I had to yell. I hate yelling. Especially at my 65 yo dad and 78 yo uncle lol

There are plenty of places where one can have an "open" discussion. More for ones in an echo chamber.
Keeping this board more sane, so that we all don't hate each other for different views isn't a bad thing.
This may be a free country, but this isn't a free website. And I'm fine with that.
In reply to aussiesmg: Sounds like a heck of a time, that's quite an update. Sorry to hear of the misfortune, hope things are on an upswing now.
Can't blame a guy for taking hiatus, several other long term posters too. Ain't the same place it used to be the last year or so.

It sure as hell was for me in rough waters, of which there have been many.

I have made a lot of special friendships on this site. Yours truly included.
I got sick Friday night at PRI, went home Saturday morning and was a blubbering mess for several days

I refuse to be assimilated by the book of faces. I've never had an account, plan to never have one. I appreciate that the GRM forum is bucking the trend. Sorry if this is a thread jacking, it seems relevant.
This probably warrants its own thread, This absolutely seems true for certain communities...
